Dodgers did pretty well in last year's draft, highlights being Root, Davalan, and Leiter, with Vidourek and West on the fringe plus a couple lower selections making some waves.

This year's draft takes place the weekend after next, but we're not likely to see the same type of success due to a limitation in high picks.

Dodgers first round pick will be #40, penalized ten spots because of being two tiers over the salary threshold.
Round 2 pick forfeited as a penalty for signing Diaz.
Round 3 pick forfeited as a penalty for signing Tucker.
Round 4 (pick #132) will be their second selection.
Round 5 forfeited for Diaz again.
Round 6 forfeited for Tucker again.

They also possess the league's smallest bonus pool due to their forfeited selections.

Diaz and Tucker better prove their worth before this season is over. Signing them was costly, and not just in terms of salary.

It's only the first inning in Tulsa and Mike already has his hit, following a double by Josue, both knocked in by a Hainline triple.

This Sirota thing is starting to get interesting. I may actually have to pay attention. ;-)

This Easton Shelton kid is unreal. I know it's only Single A, but he was an undrafted FA and now I can't see how he won't be a Dodger Top 30 when they rework the ranking. 23 HRs now, 75 RBIs (both highs in the system) and OPS of 1.021. A homer and 2 doubles tonight. And he's only 20.

Yup, also a HR for Quintero and a triple for Davalan. That team is rolling right now.

Hope had been pretty cold. But in his last two games, he combined for 6 for 9, 2 HRs, 8 RBIs.

Also, Ferris went 6 strong today. 2 hits, 2 walks, just 1 ER and 8 K's. There is hope yet.

    Single and walk for Sirota.

Some interesting tidbits from Tulsa today...

    First, Sirota didn't play.

Next, George was brought back up from his rehab stint in Single A. Single and walk and stole a base.

De Paula stayed consistent. 2 for 4, 1 SB.

Hope had his third straight strong game. Now 8 for 14, 3 HRs, 11 RBIs in his last three games.

#Dodgers top five prospect Mike Sirota takes a FB off the wrist. He would stay in the game.

    https://www.mlb.com/amp/news/dodgers-prospect-zyhir-hope-home-run-streak-double-a.html

One swing at a time, Zyhir Hope is living up to the hype. On a team loaded with superstar potential, that’s no small thing.

MLB’s No. 19 prospect went deep for a third consecutive game to power Double-A Tulsa to 10-2 win over Wichita on Saturday night at Equity Bank Park.

Hope, who has been remarkably consistent with his power production all season, followed up his career-high-tying six-RBI night Friday with three more Saturday, giving him 13 during a five-game streak and a Double-A-best 71 for the season.

On a team flush with talent, including Josue De Paula (LAD No. 1/MLB No. 4) and Mike Sirota (LAD No. 2/MLB No. 11) -- who did not play one night after extending his on-base streak to 67 consecutive games -- Hope is a big cog in an impressive engine that drives the Drillers.

However, that also understates just how formidable a player the Dodgers’ No. 3 prospect has become. Hope showed off his clutch gene against the Wind Surge on Saturday, erasing a fourth-inning deficit with a colossal two-run jack that cleared the Drillers’ bullpen in right-center field and made him the first Double-A player to reach 70 RBIs.

The 21-year-old wasn’t finished, ripping a searing liner past Wichita first baseman Andrew Cossetti (Twins) and into right for an RBI double that kickstarted a three-run eighth. Hope has already eclipsed his career high in homers with 16 and he moved within nine RBIs of equaling his personal best of 80, established last year across 127 games with High-A Great Lakes and Tulsa.

As noted, Hope has been remarkably consistent in 2026, never homering more than five times or less than four during the season’s first three months. He also drove in 21, 22 and 16 runs across April-June, respectively, which ended with the first game of his current RBI streak.

Last month was actually the first time Hope dealt with any sort of slump, batting .218 but still producing eight extra-base hits and a .739 OPS. The lefty-swinging outfielder has reversed that slight downturn so far in July, going 9-for-17 (.529) with three straight multihit performances.

Overall, the Virginia-born slugger is slashing .281/.358/.498 with 31 extra-base hits in 75 contests.

Three straight games, three home runs and no signs of slowing down. For Hope, this latest barrage is yet another chapter in a season that's becoming louder with every swing.
