Classic AB by Freddie in the 8th. Shorten up and put the ball in play. What a concept. Day off served Will well. Glasgow's line looked ugly, but he got through six after the disastrous 4th. Only one ball was hit hard that inning. The walks were the killer. Bullpen returned to form.
Thank you all dieties...a team together W. I hope Will is back. I wonder if he sits tonight ? This I do know, We won't get swept and SD wiil NOT gain a game on us. Feels like a playoff win somehow.
I send my friend fake Roberts quotes and he believes them every single time and it’s my new favorite thing. He currently believes that Dave benched Vargas because a player that hits a HR won’t be as hungry to perform well the next game compared to a guy who plays bad and has numerous strikeouts. The fact that he believes these are real says it all…
Ohtani DH Smith C Freeman 1B T Hernández LF Pages RF Outman CF Rojas SS Lux 2B Taylor 3B outman back and still no biggio-fer but paxton pitching so…
Everyone either walked or made good contact that first inning, except Outman, who struck out on three pitches. He's got to understand that his chances are running out. The hot start to his career is looking like a flash-in-the-pan, and now having a batting average lower than Taylor is a really bad look.
You could feel it coming the whole fucking game...get em all in one inning, and die after that with chance after chance and doing nothing. Forget it.
At the start of the Arizona series Kaylor was on a roll and I mentioned that I would have to start referring to him by his actual name, to which @irish responded, "no, it'll destroy his mojo." He was spot on - since that post Kaylor has gone 0 for 15 with 7 strikeouts! My bad, sorry guys. I've learned my lesson. From now on I will endeavor to always refer to him as Chris Kaylor, unless I substitute any of the following: Flailor, CTstrike3, CTOfer3, or any other fitting nickname.
Did anyone else notice the effort - or lack thereof - that Yellich made at the wall on the Vargas homerun? I'd be pissed if I was the pitcher. Not sure it was catchable, but from the replay I saw it certainly looked so and the effort was downright pathetic.
Baseball gods were with the good guys last night. A couple of paint scrapers landed on the right side of the wall. Ohtani's need no such good fortune. Hope Vargas keeps pushes management's hand. As bad as Lux has been at the plate second base shouldn't be out of the question.
