Kinda cute how every one of LAD's nemeses is now " in " on Dozier.
Guess it's only fair since LAD's been parading through just about the entire AL Central with some of their impact specs up for grabs

This has all the fixings of, "We gotta get more out of the Dodgers, let's say we have a bunch of interest from other suitors." The Cardinals infield is already overloaded and now they want to trade for another MIF? Just doesn't sound right and they don't really have a prospect that overtakes De Leon in the star power category. Now, if they threw Reyes at the Twins(which does not seem likely), then yeah they beat the Dodgers offer and I would hate to see what it would take to beat that. The Giants trying to "be creative" is also another one that doesn't seem to have teeth at all. That system is barren and even their top spects have HUGE question marks. They would have to deal from the MLB roster, which doesn't really suit the Twins needs. This is the Twins new GM trying to make the Dodgers blink and I bet that it doesn't work.

Did anyone else hear/ see the mlbtv chat about how players with experience ( I assume Dozier) and others really don't want to go to LA because it would be a platoon system for them, no doubt?
Don't know if it was just imaginary fodder, or a real possibility permeating by certain players?
Seems that a player balking at being a LAD, as an "established star" with the team they they are presently with, could be a very valid attitude that perhaps is not being considered at all.
Maybe a tempest in a teapot, or maybe a growing storm...interesting though.

IMO, you're not an "established star" if you can't hit a pitcher because they throw with their opposite hand.

Dozier wouldn't be a platoon player.

This was a rumor that was bandied about around the time that Reddick was really struggling and Kendrick was not really playing, I thought that was interesting timing as Reddick bitched on MLB radio about a month later that he was not thrilled with his usage and blamed the platoon on his rough start. This seems like a really dumb thing that got out and is likely a vet from within the Dodgers clubhouse (like a Reddick, Kendrick, Ethier, Ellis , Crawford or SVS) that was not happy with the way they were handled, or an opposing GM making assumptions or airing the grievances on behalf of an agent to get the team to stop with the severe platoons. I wouldn't really think much of it as they won't platoon you unless you really fucking need it and it won't stop a superstar from signing here if he is getting a fat contract. Considering the FA signings they just did and the reasoning behind some of the resigns, I would think that it shows that players really do like the direction this FO is taking.

Our FO has been good about drawing a line in the sand and not crossing it. If they were willing to give more, they would have already done it, and with the way they value prospects I don't see them folding on this. All signs point to this deal not getting done.

This is a new GM trying to make his mark and I have said it on here a couple times, he is overplaying his hand. There are numerous articles out there saying the same thing, "The Dodgers offered De Leon? FUCKING TAKE IT!!" This really does have the makings of the Dodgers saying, "fuck off, we're out"

The Twins probably also think that it wouldn't look good to trade their franchise face and they see the Sox haul of prospects they have received in trade. It certainly isn't because they think they are contenders???? :D. As for us I say fuck it!!!!!

Not just other suitors, but LAD nemeses.
Interesting development is that the Twins just hired one of LAD's special advisors from the farm maybe a couple weeks back

Lol Funny thing is Jimmy Rollins was actually on MLB Network the other week complaining about the way he was used with LAD
Commenting on sabermetrics and what not..saying he's given thought to just being a righty from now on.
And you know who indulged him...Reynolds.

The longer Bautista hangs around the more I'm into the idea of 1/25, shove his ass in LF and have him spell Gonzalez some of the time against lefties. Lineup would be insane as unrealistic as it might be. :passthejoint:

    reddick is a fucken idiot
he wasn't brought here to be a platoon player
he was brought here to replace puig and make him expendable
it wasn't the platoon that led him to struggling
it was him struggling that led to the platoon
puig wasn't even on the big league roster when we acquired him
    fuck you reddick
