Morrow's probably on equal footing w/Ravin and Fields, or at least they're probably all close. I could see those 3 battling it out for a single spot. Blanton's not really 8th inning/set up material..certainly not for a WS contender. Complain all you like about Romo, and compare Blanton/Romo or whatever, and OK yeah they put up very similar stat lines last year, but Romo's an October tested late inning guy and Blanton's not. As they say in Thrones.." this is known. " Hate him, but of course Romo's more accomplished there and it's not even close, so maybe he can post numbers similar to last year's 157ERA+ while also not choking like Blanton in the end? Blanton skating on thin ice all year long w/his clever way of pitching from behind in the count using all of his pitches..that was a coo story w/him doing well in a new role..cat burglaresque and got them through a long reg-season. So yeah, I appreciate what he did for most of last year, but he was miscast in his role and the cracks showed in the end. So I'll live w/Romo over Blanton if that's what happens. Looks like the Romo signing isn't official yet, so we'll see what happens with that.

But yeah, I mean even w/Blanton performing well LAD was still out there talking to PIT at the trade deadline about acquiring Melancon to set up for Kenley, which of course would've knocked Blanton back into a role more suitable for him..of course it didn't work out there and ultimately Blanton ran outta gas. After all that here we are a couple weeks away from pitchers/catchers reporting and Blanton's still unsigned, so it doesn't seem as if anybody's socks were truly knocked off. But maybe LAD will sign him too? Probably not, but if Blanton still comes back and wins the role and puts out a similar performance, even then I don't think LAD would be set on him ( or Romo, or anyone else w/LAD except maybe a couple guys) and I think they'll likely find themselves going back on the trade market for a strong set up option at the deadline. I maybe seem like a Blanton hater right now, but IDGAF. I really only have one fuck to give at this point in the off-season and I'm saving it for a Puig trade..which means I'll probably be carrying that fuck into Spring Training where I'll more than likely just cash it in on Cody Bellinger's encore ST performance.

"The Dodgers according to multiple sources have agreed in principal on a free agent contract with Sergio Romo. However team President Andrew Friedman told me tonight it's not done yet."

...yeah whatever... according to a few reports out there, this is not gonna stop the club from pursuing Blanton as well. Resigning him ON TOP of Romo would be damn fine with me.

    agreed
if they get blanton too +1
    romo obviously had his issues
with the naked eye, it looked like his slide flattened out
but if honeycutt can't help him get on top of it and recapture his old form...

He definitely crumbles in one if not more key games against his former team this year. Book it.

Love to see Blanton back in a 6th-7th inning role. He was miscast a year ago as the primary setup. Nice to have a pitcher in the pen capable of more than one inning.

Fuck Romo under any and every circumstance.

Again, no options. We've seen them keep much worse than a guy who was very good to both sides (albeit in a small sample). Injuries happen and they are gonna want to do what they can to keep all of these guys in house. Could even see Alex Wood get sent down (options) if they aren't able to move Kazmir or McCarthy.

Romo is someone I've always said that if I saw him chilling at a bar, I'd walk straight up to him and punch him straight in the face...
