    This is encouraging......

The Dodgers are also aware of another Giants’ hidden edge, that of pitchers’ offensive performance as the Dodgers ranked 10th in the NL in pitcher OPS (.290) while the Giants ranked fourth (.405). Sure, rostering Madison Bumgarner doesn’t hurt that effort.

Gives me hope that MGT will go after Otani.

    One 12 Gauge > three .38 pistols

    But then there's that.....

I love fangraphs, but for fucks sake they gotta talk to their writers about introductions and cutting pieces down. I feel like every one of their articles has a 3-4 paragraph lead in that could be said in 2-3 sentences. The Dodgers blogger Brim that used to work with FG would brag about the 2500 word pieces he would write about a subject and I am sitting here like, "did you ever take a writing class? Get to the point!' They get so god damned long winded. Anyway.... This has me excited. I really wanted them to fix their 2 strike approach and I am happy to see they are.

I don't think I've ever finished a fan graphs article. In fact, I don't think I've ever gotten to the main point of one of their articles. Very long winded.

As likely as that is to happen down the road, possibly later this season, I think ST showed that Bellinger needs a little more time in OKC before we start talking about him Wally Pipping anyone.

Agreed. Did anyone see the HUGE hack he took in the 9th last night. He literally fell down, and then they showed the recap and he was no where near the ball. I assume has was guessing fastball and got a change up, but it made him look silly none the less. A bit more time in AAA is not bad at all.

That piece looked like it was written by a third grader.

Bellinger was going to do at least a 100-150 AB tour in AAA this year no matter what happened in spring training..just facts.
I know one thing LAD had to improve on in the past was their offensive approach w/ men on 3B and less than 2 outs.
They were so weak in those situations, shit was infuriating..it's like everybody turned into Puig in those situations.

Otani was set to sign with LAD out of high school, so they love the player and he loves them back.
LAD scouted him all throughout high school ( he was a beast high school spec) and one of the scouts got very close w/ both Otani and his family back then..it would've been a historic signing, as no Japanese high schooler has ever made the jump to pro ball in the US.
What changed Otani's mind on signing back then ( when he was a just a kid) was a video of what life is like in the minors in the US, and he didn't have to deal w/ such if he'd stay and sign w/ Nippon and be a hero ASAP.
But as recently as last November, when team Mexico went to Japan, Adrian ( Gonzalez) and a LAD scout had gifts for Otani..Otani is said to have appreciated so much of LAD's focus over the years and he's done nothing to sway their love for him, only gotten better.
All to say that LAD will probably be benefiting from the new CBA here, getting Otani for much less $ at the end of the day, and the way Otani talked about the CBA a month or so ago he made it seem like the end of the day may be 2018.
    He's ready for a challenge.

i saw it and i also saw him walk after that
agree he needs more seasoning but seeing as that was his first game in DS and he had a chance to hit a walk off in a meaningless game that was ending either way i forgive him

I hope Greinke has a strong performance today and gives the Gnats an L. But reports are that his pitch speed was down this spring. So glad we avoided a long term contract with him.
