The best fit for Puig is a team that can afford to take the hit if Puig busts. So a team with a high payroll. Also a team in need of an OFer and a Right-Handed bat in the lineup. I'm sure there's a team like that out there. :D

    fire mattingly
not all of this is [necessarily] his fault, but there just needs to be a change
three division titles in a row; good
not making the WS any of those years [and getting bounced in the lds the last two]; not good

get rid of the entire coaching staff except honeycutt
i like lopes, i like roenicke, but they're still part of a failed mindset/concept
need fresh faces with fresh ideas
and mcgwire fucken sucks lemur testes

    eat $$ and trade crawford
stop trying to be penny wise when his presence hurts the team
i love ethier, but trade him while his value is at it's highest
fuck anderson and the two ex-philly pieces of shit... yeah, that veteran presence really paid off <sarcasm

send joc and corey to winter ball
joc to work on shortening his swing
corey just to work on a plan when he gets to the plate; what pitches to expect, etc
and if neither shows encouraging progress, sorry, ship em back to the minors

    re-sign zack, jp and ruggiano
    sign david price

    fix the fucken bullpen

still in a foul mood :bitching:

No matter how many of your guys' pipe dreams come true, we're still the Dodgers and we'll lose in the first round again next year.

Pretty much agree with all of this. Regarding Mattingly, he's actually shown some improvement this year and it is true that everything is not his fault. However, as stated previously, a change is needed and whatever he is or isn't doing isn't enough. Him and the staff' need some mopping up.

I'd add Puig and Van Slyke to the winter ball squad.

I don't know why but I like McGwire :/ I know I'm alone in that, but I find him as the 2nd best coach on the staff behind Honeycutt. But also, I don't even know how much hitting coaches do lol

Also think Roenicke is interesting. Maybe it's a very perfect coincidence, but the base running significantly improved when he came to the team.

Everyone else, I don't mind either way.

We'll trade for Bryce Harper and Mike Trout then lose to the Reds in the first round cause Billy Hamilton hits 5 home runs

once again started waaaaaay too soon...

So CBS reports that Zack opted out to pursue a Kershaw type deal... so? Pay the man.

And then go find another teams #1 SP and get him too as our #3 SP. Now.

And then and then and then fix this shit properly.
    JHey
    Harper
    Stanton
    Price
    Scherzer

Get some damn talent so that we can win this thing!!

He's still not an everyday player, but we have enough versatility on the team to help him. He can sit every 4th day and be fine. He looks like an old man with all that hair, but he's only 30yrs old. Pretty shocking to know that Kendrick is 2 years older than he is.

Even with his struggles this year Puig was on pace to be a 3 win player, so he's not exactly busted. But you also have no idea where his train is gonna stop, so it's a gamble either way. Lots to consider...I mentioned some other stuff above.

    you know what i'm wondering?...
if they hire/keep all these coaches because they're "yes men"
not fiery, not controversial, never going to rock the boat -- just happy to be employed subservient fucks
maybe that's why they passed on maddon... maybe friedman feared he'd lobby for price at the deadline and didn't want to deal with it

i have nothing to validate this
    just a thought

Resigning Greinke should be our #1 priority. We take a huge step back if we lose him, and I'm not in love with the idea of swapping him out for Price. Price is an excellent pitcher, but he has been an absolute disaster in the postseason. The rotation looks nice on paper with Kershaw-Greinke-Ryu if we resign Zack, but we still need to look to add a starter since we can't be certain that Ryu will stay healthy or be the same pitcher we had before. Simply can't go into the postseason next year with the hole we had at the 3 slot this year.

Too many roster spots are occupied by waste. Get rid of guys like Crawford, Rollins, Utley, etc. They used to be good hitters, but hurt us more than they help us in their current state. I would only deal Puig if we get a good offer, but his value is the lowest it has ever been like Coloradokid pointed out. Wouldn't just trade Puig for the sake of trading if we are getting no value in return. But I do not want the Dodgers to feel like don't have to go out and add an impact bat because they think a healthy Puig will fill that void next year. Puig can't be relied on as a run producing bat. Getting Stanton won't happen, but we can't ignore the fact that the offense has been shutdown easily the last 3 postseasons and needs fixing. A full year of Seager will be exciting, but we need a middle of the order bat with pop that can instill fear in opposing teams. How many times did we switch lineups this year? Felt like we never threw out the same lineup two games in a row while other teams were pretty consistent with their lineup. Bullpen could still use some fixing. There is room for improvement in every department....starting pitching, batting, and the bullpen. For the majority of the season, Jansen was our only trusted relief pitcher. Hatcher was a pleasant surprise, but we need to explore as many bullpen arms as possible and stop letting a guy like Pedro Baez play a big role in the pen. 2nd year in a row that he burned us in game 1 of the NLDS. So much more I could write in greater detail, but my heart isn't in it. Don't want to be talking about the fucking offseason and want to be talking about beating the Cubs in the NLCS. Stings.

I'm on the Price train more than the Greinke train.

Consider the AL side when evaluating Price's post-season experience. Also, consider that before Greinke got to LA he had big playoff troubles in Milwaukee to the tune of 12 earned runs given up in 16 innings in 2011. Just goes to show that you can't always close the book on a talented guy when he struggles. The light comes on later for some. Price was OK in 2014 tho. His 1st taste of the post came at age 23 or 24.

It's Greinke for 5yrs vs. Price for 3yrs for me. 3yrs for Price because I think you include an opt out in his deal as sort of an escape from holding on to him for too long. He'll opt out just like Greinke is. Barring injury both should be really for the next 3yrs. By that time Urias and De Leon should be somewhat established..we hope.

We're a long way from the past non-belief of Greinke opting out tho...it's here.

The return of Tubo...I'll tell you what we've learned this year on opening day, 2016, Tubo.
If that player's manager/wanker from Hoosierville is still in the dugout- NOTHING!
    Absolutely ZERO!
