The main reason I dislike the difference in DH rules between the leagues is that it creates an advantage in roster construction for AL teams. AL teams have an advantage signing better players cause they can offset age with a move to DH, and can have an extra good player to use as depth for injury compared to the NL.

I also feel that pretty soon it'll have to be one uniform rule, and they won't get rid of the DH in the AL cause of $$$$$$$$ so, yeah

Well, we won't be getting a DH finook change this year, but I just heard that since DHers are highly paid, the players union will most likely support it when it does come up officially on the agenda. Too bad.
However, the present commish is said to be a traditionalist (we'll see), and is fine with the way it is now. Good.
But if it ever came down to commissioner vs. union, I'd go with the union... every time, unfortunately.

The MLBPA is more for a DH than against it as it is 15 more high paying jobs that open up, not 15 doors closing. I think we are on the same page with our beliefs.

And keeping pitchers doing what they're actually paid to do.
Some pitchers won't like it...like Madbum and Greinke...and with that said, fuck both of those guys and their feelings.

    Perhaps.
Although, @ 19 years old he's still too young and his arm is too strong to close the door on him catching this early.
3 years is a nice amount of time.

Leon needs to prove that last year was just a blip on the radar. From everything I have heard, he looked really bad last year. It could be that he is trying to focus on being better behind the plate and it affected his offense, but right now he is too far off to be considered a viable piece down the line.

Ok, so Blanton was actually really really good when he came out of the pen last year so this makes some sense.

    Stats as a reliever: 57.1 IP, 62 K's, 12BB, .224 BAA, .612 OPS, 1.047 WHIP. He repeats that and I'll be happy.

He was even better after the move to the NL during the season. I think this could be it for a Rays deal, but it also could be that he is needed for a swingman role if they move Wood.

    9.7 K/9 as a reliever, only 4 HRs, that'll play.

Joe Blanton was good last year as a reliever and it's low risk but he also takes up the very important role of being the easiest Dodger to mock and dislike

If he repeats his performance from last year that's great, and if not, hopefully he only does mop up work

What's gonna be important is how Dave Roberts uses him. It's a wtv signing that can become great with not only his performance but how he's used, but can be disastrous if he's facing too many lefties or in a short set up role
