Kuroda and Martin back together in Blue? Throwing at above batters' heads?

Fuck it, let's get the band back together.

Broxton, Kuroda, Martin, bring back Manny. Shit, get Derek Lowe out of retirement.

You laugh but Broxton woulda been our 2nd best righty reliever last year and no doubt set up man. Ned couldnt even get him and he was sent for shit.

Him and Bills in our bullpen wouldn't be bad although it might kill people to think of their mental state, they had very good Dodger careers and still can provide value to a team in 2015

    and while we're at it...

Rays Designate Jerry Sands For Assignment
By Mark Polishuk [November 3, 2014 at 12:30pm CST]
[IMG] The Rays have designated outfielder Jerry Sands
-- who was activated off the 60-day DL -- for assignment according to a
team press release. Sands was claimed off waivers from the Pirates last
offseason, and appeared in only 12 games with the Rays due to wrist
surgery in July. He has a .689 OPS over 273 Major League PA with the
    Rays and Dodgers since 2011.

There isn't, but you also need to be a realist. Baseball is a cruel sport that loves to break your heart. It just makes the win that much sweeter when it finally happens.

    you're both right
i try to be optimistic, but i also don't go all in any more
too many times disappointed -- joe morgan, jack clark, matt stairs, matt adams
so i'm sort of in the "hope for the best/prepare for the worst" mode
when i was a kid, it seemed like an eternity when we missed the world series from 1966 to 1974
even '81 to '88 seemed like forever
    if i only knew
the year i was born the dodgers were defending world champions
i genuinely feel sad for anyone here born after '88
you guys are all great fans and deserve better
and believe me, there is no better feeling than winning it all
lakers and kings championships are great, but there's something special about when the dodgers do it
and i can say with absolute certainty... that i will cry like a baby when we finally do win again
just hoping it happens before my tear ducts completely dry up

So I saw Seager and talked to a bunch of scouts this past weekend. Everyone loves him, thinks he can be a fantastic player and has an even keel demeanor, which is very welcomed in the type of clubhouse we have. I've seen him many times, so I think he can play short a couple years at least and then move to 3rd and become well-above average defensively. His approach at the plate is great, swing is fuckin quick, power potential is above-average, great kid... we're looking at a Buster Posey if he played SS boys (sorry about the Giants comparison lol)

didn't see anyone else on the Dodgers while in AZ but if you have any questions about guys in the NL West that I saw just let me know. Giants have another lefty reliever that is a motherfucker (Steven Okert), Padres have a big time power bat (Hunter Renfroe).

and supposedly another difference maker with him, aside from his even keel demeanor, is his relationship with his older brothers who've already had these experiences..they're giving him major insight whenever he asks for it and constantly prepping him for what's to come. the lack of maturity in Manny Machado's case has come up quite often as of late..i do not think Dodger fans need to worry about that with Seager. i wonder how long it'll be before Friedman tries to lock Seager up Longoria-style..or maybe that was just a Tampa thing.

If everything goes perfectly and there's a spot open on the big club he has a small chance to break camp with the big club.
I'm thinking by June/July if we have a spot

with the clubhouse the way it is..and you know what i mean..what's your sense as far as the front office possibly shifting some things around to make the house more Seager/Joc friendly? is letting Hanley go sort of " a start " so to speak?

the clubhouse is apparently very very separated. multiple people have said there were fights... so yeah, they're not resigning Hanley imo unless ownership demands it. Joc has a chip on his shoulder, has confidence but isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, and Seager is great... I think they'll be fine minus Hanley.

Have a feeling they trade Puig... He's apparently a real problem

    glad you shared this chris
a while back i said he should be given a look this spring, and some (not all) here said he was too young/not ready
i don't necessarily disagree, but he should definitely be given the opportunity to show that maybe he is ready

and thx for sharing this as well
puig shouldn't be a surprise to anyone
rumors (which you might be privy to) said he was frequently late to BP/games last season
and, just as bad (if not, worse), that mattingly did nothing to discipline him

yea, i think Hanley showed his true colors this year..in his play and in his actions with reporters when he was struggling. he let the contract stuff get to him..even Mattingly admitted that..and now that i look back at it, the front office going out and signing 2 Cuban shortstops last winter probably let Hanley know that he was on the clock because they may have known what to expect. plus, the shift to defense @ SS was inevitable with our pitching and Hanley's inability to play 3B just bolstered his exit even more.

i'm with you. we're on the same page. and there has to be a nice market out there for him because of his contract and age. i think the Cubs would be a good trade partner..i'd take a flyer on Javier Baez and that raw power of his. i know the Cubs are in love with Addy Russell, as well they should be.

but Miami would be a nice trade partner for Puig as well..for you know who in return. Dodgers could load them up with all of our Cubans and Loria could do pretty well selling that to Marlins' fans.

If Don Mattingly can't get a clubhouse together and can't get through to the Dodgers best position player in years, then why the fuck is he here? He's a pathetic in-game manager but the reason they love him is supposed great management of egos. Which well I guess he did allroght with if they still won 90+ games but if they have to make huge decisions that could come back and bite them because of a clubhouse, then what is Mattingly getting paid loads of money for?

And of course, maybe there's cases of some players just being impossible to get to. But how do we know that. Puig still put up two amazing seasons and the rest of the team still played fine if he was bringing them down, he wasn't close to our biggest problem. And I'm not pretending to know anything that goes on but I guuess my point is that if this really is a huge problem I would rather the team find someone who could calm the problem rather then trade it away cause the latter has a much more negative impact. Not to mention if you do that, you're basically saying Mattingly is getting paid lots of money to make brutal in game decisions
