If the Dodgers could acquire one player at the deadline, who would you prefer?

  1. Machado

    43.5%
  2. Front line starter (degrom, thor, et al)

    56.5%

You said i hated him and piazza and some other nonsense of a teamful if dodgers i hate.
You prempted that with drama dredging.
You are misremembering stuff from the past and basing that to make uo stuff to make a point of contention with current posts you are obviously cofusingly taking out of context to mean the opposite of what im saying.
    Like old times.
    So to clear up.
I love pizza as a dodger player that the org shitted on for his entire tenure.
    Dont hate kent.
Dont hate a team full of dodgers. Dont hate any dodger.

Keep stuff in its proper context.
    Dont make shit up.
Im not being outta line to ask you to keep it simple.

You really should not start a convo by saying that you dont want to be the very thing you know you are going to be.
Its like saying you dont want to gossip right before you start talking shit about a person.

Its a tell. Every single time.
    Pardon my french.
    S'il vous plaît.

Piazza was my all-time favorite player growing up.

It broke my heart that the Dodgers traded him to the Marlins.

But he killed me and he's dead to me going into the Hall of Fame as a Met so he's dead to me.

He could have made a big statement going in as a Dodger.

And the reason we haven't won since 1988 and I think we are close cuz we have that mentality that we play for the name in the front and not in the back with this group.

End of story I think we can all agree to that. So stop bringing back painful memories and let's look for the future.

Well, I guess it was inevitable...I wrote I had it wrong, but still not good enough.
For you. Still with the psychoanalytical bullshit Rube take on it all, ad infinitum.
And it is not that important, but you've written some nasty shit about Kent and what a scumbag he was, in your opinion, a few times in the past, at least.
Not made up, just you coming back with your usual " I didn't mean that, I meant this instead, blah, blah...you got it wrong again, BZ"...
Yeah, it's a tell, every time...
You write in your parables, in self described code, and in crypto language and phrasing, so when someone gets it wrong, and admits it to you, you ask people to keep it simple. As if what you went on with about Zach Greinke was Dodger love? I' m not misremembering shit- you're just like everyone else, and that's what I got from your posts. So what?
And if you did hate a player, wtf difference does it make? So what?
Glad this happened in a way, before the season started.
However, I will give it the old college try to keep it real simple, for you anyway, in the future.
    Real simple.
    Thanks for straightening me out.

Yeah zack greinke was a douche.
    Not a fan.
Again though you said a team of dodgers i hate. Powerful hate even.
I never said i loved everyone.
You brought this shit up mustabeen important for you.
Mike and Kent was off the top of your head. You got made up shit at the top of your head just waiting to be expressed?

Point being that nobody was hating on Kent or Greinke. You had this shit at the top of your head for me hating dodgers when others were hating on Mike. You turned it on me and said i hated Kent and started to defend Kent.
Your mistake about mike was the least mistake with that post.
    Because it wasnt a mistake.
You wanted to talk about my hate for Kent. That was your mistake because it was out of the blue.
Just you wanting to stir shit up with your passive agressive comments bringing up old drama to cover up lies and errors and give fuel to new bullshit.

    Fuck that.

The org treated him crappy from the get go because he was viewed as a nepotism draft pick.
Others in the org specially catchers disliked him. He sorta received the treatment Puig got from Greinke and some of the other guys who in their mind are 'old school' but were actually just being chapasses.
Then Tommy sent Scioscia packing because the pitchers wanted Scioscia to be their catcher instead of Piazza.
That pissed even more people in the org off.
Tommy was right from the start. Mike was special but was treated shittily.
Was sent to play in Mexicali and the Dominican when at the time no white guys were being sent to play down there.
I think he was the first ever american born player to play in the Dominican instructional leagues.
Mike was not a C, he was not a baseball player, he could not field any position. He was purely a DH prospect in the majors.
Since there is no DH in the NL they made him become a catcher. Other catchers hated this non catcher with zero catching skills or experience taking their reps.
Kevin Kennedy who IMO is a fantastic coach and one of the most knowledgeable baseball guys out of the game trained him to become one of the best receivers in baseball. Before pitch framing was a thing Piazza was the best in the game.
Nomo was crazy to catch and Mike caught a no hitter from him. And he caught one from Ramon Martinez as well if I remember right.
One of the Martinez at least.

The curse of the Dodgers started with the trading away of Pedro, not understanding that Piazza was a once in a generation player and lowballing Beltre. The end of the Dodger way was when Peter O'Malley had lost the love and started his quest to sell the team to Fox/McCourt. That decade of 1993 to 2003 finished killing of the organization and brought on the curse.
A curse we are barely coming out of thanks to the current bean counters and owners trying to get back to that Old Dodger's Way.

There really was no reason for Mike to go in as a Dodger.
Beltre will go in as a Ranger, as he should.
    Pedro as a Red Sox.
And it was all our cheap ass organizations fault.

That shit is not happening anymore.
No more trying to recapture 1988 which was the results of big gambles.
Winning big makes you want to keep gambling, thats where we had been for so long.
Trying to hit the lottery again.
Now we are back to working hard and developing players that we sign and keep.
Instead of trading away our best and brightest for a shot right now.

Or worse yet, ownership that trades a once in a lifetime catcher to add another regional sports network in Miami for the FOX vs ESPN cold war.

    Yes, it does.
I wonder, if ultimately, is it worse to be so close season after season, but not get the ring, or just suck a lot and one time come from nowhere and be champs?

...and today MLBTR doubled down on nothing when they reiterated a non-story about a fantasy trade no one ever from either team ever talked about...

Anything to get a Dodgers link in there I suppose.

Just watched the video of Bumgarner getting hit in the hand and I must say it was more effective than anything I've seen on Lobstertube in the last 6 months.

Yeah, Winslow, Lobstertube. You're welcome, for the life changer. Newsflash: Someone should have already told you that tits and ass > stats!

So in a matter of 36 hours, SF goes from a best case 90-win team to a best case 80-win team, missing a month or so of Samardzija and likely 6-8 weeks (minimum) of MadBum, that's like 20 starts between them.
