    • Roberts came out today and Bellinger is looking at the lion's share for RF and with Pollock slotted in for CF, it looks like the competition for LF is Verdugo and Joc. It really is starting to seem like this team may not have Verdugo in the long term plans. This kid needs to start and it should be in RF. If the plan is to send him to AAA again to start the season, I say just trade the dude and see what you can get for him.
    • Will Smith seems to be in the near future plans. There has been a good bit of talk out of the FO in regards to a guy that hasn't spent a minute on the active roster. AAA pitchers exploited a hole in his swing, so we will see how he corrects it. Throughout Smith's career(including college), he has done a good job of making offseason adjustments.

Could say the same for Joc since they've been shopping him.
Given Nightenfail's reporting, I can now at least fathom a 4 man OF of Harper-LF/Pollock-CF/Belli-RF with Toles as the 4th guy able to play each spot and bring his slugging/speed off the bench.
Verdugo and Joc continue their careers elsewhere

Granted this is not finite by any means. Someone came out recently and said that the Dodgers were never shopping Joc, but they were getting calls about him. The FO is said to love Joc and have no intentions to move him.... just wish that he could get to league average against LHP'ers and we would be set with him.

Joc would certainly be in line for an Ethieresque $90M under McCourt. Guess we'll see how big this FO is willing to go for a guy with bad splits

Boras job is to get money.

I have no problem with Joc.
He is a platoon player that mashes righties and is above average defensively in LF without even trying.
Just find him some scrub that mashes lefties and call it a day.
Or train flatfoot Muncy to play LF so he can take some snaps there.

There's a growing expectation/feeling of dread that young players are watching this offseason and are going to start signing below market extensions. Don't worry though, as other teams have begun doing that, the Dodgers won't do the same as Urias, Bellinger and Seager are all represented by Boras....

This has got to be one of the most boring periods in LA sports history.

    There is literally nothing interesting

At least we don't have to worry about the Lakers making the NBA Finals and losing to the Celtics.

Source confirms: #Yankees, Luis Severino agree on four-year, $40M contract, avoiding arbitration. First reported: @Joelsherman1.

I know what CKWG said about all of those guys being Boras clients, but at some point (not this year, especially in Seager's case) I could see guys deciding they want long-term security because of what a disaster free agency has been the last 2 winters. I look at Buehler in particular given he's already had TJ.

Sounds like from a couple of different reports this morning that Manny Machado is not close to a deal and according to Heyman, is sticking to that $300M number. Some others out there said that he now plans to sign AFTER Bryce. We are basically just in a holding pattern until some contender loses a key piece and then Victor Martinez/Prince Fielder's this shit.
