Talk has surfaced again from a Pirates beat writer about Cervelli and the Dodgers, wouldn't do it for 4 years of Stripling.

    John Perrotto‏@JPerrotto
Talks between Pirates and Dodgers about Francisco Cervelli have restarted. #pirates #dkps

probably in the minority, but i would
i like strip, but imo his value to our team is minimal and he's easily replaceable

Why isn't Ramos and option? His 2016 was damn good. Will he require too many years?

The Dodgers checked in on Wilson Ramos to talk a one-year deal, but
he wants more years, per source. Ramos was here in Vegas this week.

I think he meant the Pirates wouldn't do it?

    • Although Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said the team is open to both long- and short-term options behind the plate, they appear more inclined to find a bridge to Ruiz or Will Smith.

Would 3 with an option work? That way Ruiz and/or Smith get a chance to learn come 2021 and we don't feed them to the sharks right away

ideally i think friedman would prefer to do most of the rest via trade
and save as much $$$ as he can for harper

Richard Justice was just on MLB Network, mentioned the Dodgers are actively trying to move bodies (and money) among OFs, to clear room for Bryce.

Does this indicate they're confident that they will get Bryce?
Or is it still a priority should they strike out on him?

Earlier this afternoon from Bowden, not an exact word for word recount, but close enough after he was asked about the Reds interest in Realmuto.
“I talked to my contact with the Reds and asked ‘what are you doing going after Realmuto!?’ and his response was, ‘we called and asked what it would take to put a deal together. They told us their asking price for him. We said you can’t be serious, they said they were and so we’re out. Nowhere close to reasonable. An hour later news broke that we had interest.’ so what I’m hearing is the Marlins are running out of options and are leaking to the press fake interest to get better offers.”
It honestly sounds like the Mets and Dodgers are the only two teams that are kicking around at this point as the asking price from the Padres was said to be absolutely insane.

Dan O'Dowd (sp?) was just talking about D.J. Lamehieu (sp?)
Said if he adjusts his point of contact, he can hit 25 HR along with his average and great defense

    I don't see it

It seemed to indicate that they want to make a serious run, but if nothing else, they need to move a few of the 15 big league starters or OFs + Urias.

They have like 15 guys who are either big league starting pitchers or OFs (in some capacity): Kershaw, Buehler, Ryu, Maeda, Hill, Stripling, Wood, Kemp, Pederson, Puig, Taylor, Kiké, Bellinger, Verdugo and Toles, then theirs Urias. 15 + Urias, some of those guys have to go, the obvious choices, especially if they're going to bring in other impact players (Kluber? Harper?) are the guys making decent money like Wood, Hill and Puig.

Yeah, ya gota give to get. I would rather see Stripling go than Urias but if Urias gets the trade done then I make it. Would love to see what Urias could do over a full season but he is never healthy. At some point MGT needs to make a decision on keep investing or trade, this might be when they decide to trade him.
