I'm sure we all agree, that unless the returns are good, their is no reason to trade Joc and especially Stripling (as he makes nothing).

I need to look at everything, but sending $10M in the Maeda deal changes thing a decent bit and I believe the Dodgers are now getting less from the Red Sox to boot. They were JUST under the tax with the previous deal, so this will probably take them into it, especially with some reachable bonuses on the roster. When keeping Joc and Ross, that is also an additional $10M. It sounds like we are over now from what everyone is saying.

I know it probably sucks going to a new organization, but moving to the Angels would be a huge boost to Stripling’s career. He’d go from swing-man to potentially his team’s ace.

Keeping Joc and adding a power arm for our pen?

I think this turned out better than before

I definitely get that, but I feel Ross would benefit more going to an NL club or at least especially not to the AL West where every team has a pretty good shot of being solid or better.

Nightengale saying that the Dodgers are still shopping Joc. Just sounds like the Angels deal did not work for them.

A lot of people are saying that Graterol is the better prospect between he and Downs... Dodgers seem to think the same thing with Downs+Wong going. One BP guy REALLY does not like Downs all that much and LOVES Graterol, but he is being told by other scouts that he's wrong, haha.

I don’t know... I’m thinking about the 2 years of arbitration he has in 2021 and 2022. With the Angels he will get 30 starts guaranteed (health permitting), and that will seriously help his arbitration salaries. At his age and skill level he’s not in line for a big payday in FA, so a couple more million in arb will make a huge difference. Really any place where he has a solid spot in the rotation would be good.

If the Dodgers could just, not trade Joc that would be great...
    RHP
    LF Joc
    RF Betts
    CF Bellinger
    1B Turner
    3B Muncy
    SS Seager
    C Smith
    2B Lux

Good god man, keep the band together.

    Joc .920 OPS vs RHP
    AJ .906 OPS vs LHP

Super stoked that Joc and Ross are staying! I hope that remains the case!

I would rather have these two experienced Major league players than the prospects in this scenario, especially since we made out well in the Betts trade

I feel like with those two guys gone, we would lose a little bit of the classic Dodgers depth identity we've come to love over the past 4 years. Plus, they are good at what they do

Another part of the Downs deal, guessing the Dodgers really believe in Michael Busch cause their depth at 2B is fairly weak in MiLB now.

Does not sound like Joc is going to stick around for long, according to reports. Just hope they get a better package than the bullshit that was leaked about the Angels.

Honestly wonder if they may try to move Pollock now after the backlash from Dodgers fans that were mad about original Angels rumor. With Hernandez and Taylor in the fold, would rather trade a righty anyway.

LOL, watching MLBNetwork and Bull Durham is on. They have announced breaking news a couple of times now. It's all about the Joc trade and not the Betts trade. They have all of it in the scroll at the bottom, but I find it funny that the studio update doesn't mention the bigger deal.
