    The lengthy delay in this blockbuster trade may actually benefit the #Dodgers. They not only will still get Mookie Betts and David Price from the #RedSox, but could end up with the 100-mph arm of #Twins reliever Brusdar Graterol, too, a huge asset for the back of their bullpen.

    Twins now dealing directly with Dodgers and that part of mega deal seems pretty set, with Maeda still going to Minnesota and Graterol presumably going to LA. Dodgers are now mostly working with Red Sox to rejigger package for Betts. There’s certainly increased hope. #Mookie

    Gammons has been calling for Downs and Gray to be in the deal since before it was announced, so Boston fans are all about them. I just don't think we will do that. I have a feeling that Downs may be an untouchable now as the FO knows they have a dilemma coming up. My guess is they will spend to retain Betts and then Bellinger, which will leave Seager as the odd man out in between. So my hunch is the 2 year plan is Downs at 2B and Lux at SS unless Seager has a big bounce back year, which even then, 3B is probably where they would want him.

    As for Gray, this FO strikes me as someone that does not want to constantly reload with pitching via free agency and trade every year. Have they done that? Yes, but I feel they would love to have a fully internal rotation since that is cheaper and a safer bet than overpriced FA's. Since outside of May, he has the most steady projection as a starter in our system, I could see them wanting to hold on to him with the lack of high end depth we have right now on the roster.

    Graterol already showing up in Twins camp and starting his routine yesterday, gotta believe that all sides will want to wrap this up by morning tomorrow. Camps start Thursday and Friday with these guys arriving at least a day early. No idea why the Sox decided to wait until so fucking late to get on this, but here we are. I would not be shocked if the next thing we hear is an announcement of the deal by the teams themselves or word dropping that talks totally fell apart. Hard to see any side leaking anything after what just happened. Would not be shocked if the "talks progressing" was really a team source hiding that things were agreed on, just awaiting on medicals.
