    I swear BZ, three things that have become pretty commonplace... Roberts making bad decisions, Kimbrel making 9th inning leads disappear, and you making thread topics irrelevant.

    Get it now.
    Thread.

    @jonmorosi
    While a Shohei Ohtani trade is viewed as unlikely, sources say the #Dodgers have tried to engage the #Angels regarding the possibility of acquiring the superstar. Many in the industry are skeptical that Ohtani would be dealt to the Angels’ geographic rival.

    Yeah...it would be something, but snowball in hell shot there.
    i'd be satisfied with somebody like Bard, to close for us instead of the easily hit and scored upon, washed up guy we have now.
    I mean, I recognize his past greatness, you'd be dumb not to. One of the best.
    But, I reiterate, can you imagine this guy against the Yankees or Astros or Mets...whoever... at that calibre, in the post season?
    It just doesn't compute. He's not going to get back that killer instinct past.
    It's pretty much smoke and mirrors now.
    I feel they need to do something about it..

    Chris Martin, the Dodgers' newest reliever, has a 4.31 ERA in 34 appearances this season;
    but since June 17, he has a 3.29 ERA in 14 outings.

    I like it. McKinstry had his moment early last season, but I think it's evident that he wasn't going to be a long term contributor.

    Padres are only getting Soto if Friedman lets them. May, Cartaya, and Miller are all better pieces than anyone the Madres can offer

    i know i’m in the minority (racist)
    but i don’t want soto
    at least not via trade
    costs way too much in prospects/players
    for me i’d rather re-sign trea long term

    I agree...if it's an either/ or situation, I go with Trea, too.
    But if it's in addition to Trea, for prospects, it would make the team surely the best in bb. It is at or near that now, but considering the length of time we' ve enjoyed that status, the rewards and results have been minimum.
    Let's face it. We should have done way better than only the '20 WS.
    Roberts is going to be the manager for years to come, and Soto would at least increase the " they won in spite of him" chances.
    He'll always find a way to lose or fuck it up, especially now with the caliope carnival NBA type post season format.

    Reportedly the Soto sweepstakes is down to the Dodgers, Cards and Pads.

    Supposedly the Cards are offering the most MLB talent and the Pads are offering the most prospects. Nothing mentioned about the Dodgers' offer.
