Love to see a player one day test the Yankee bullshit hair/ beard rule.
Like if they were possibly signing Otani and he had long hair or a Fu Manchu 'stache..." I no can cut hair, but I play for Yankees if you say OK I keep it".
Probably can't ever happen because so much money is involved, but would just love to see it. I guess it's left over from Steingrabber or something ? NY is such a neat, conservative place you know. May as well get murdered while clean shaven. Yeehah !
    Remember Goose Gossage ?

    cheaters gonna cheat
    • New York Mets closer Edwin Díaz has been suspended 10 games and fined an undisclosed amount after violating prohibitions on foreign substances, Major League Baseball announced Monday. Díaz is the eighth pitcher suspended for sticky stuff since MLB cracked down on pitchers attempting to use foreign substances to improve their grip and spin rates in 2021. Three of them have been Mets, including Max Scherzer and Drew Smith last year. The Houston Astros' Ronel Blanco was suspended May 15.

So Kershaw gets a week off due to soreness.... queue DOC Dave "
I imagine all those banjo-hitting veterans and a handful of "promising prospects" would get it done.

I mean ... shit ... Guggenheim dropped a billion into two guys this off-season. Doesn't 'all-in' come to mind?

I've been going back and forth with some guy on the Dodgers Nation IG account about this.

Sure Robert Jr. has fantastic pop and the ceiling is "relatively" high, but he is quite literally always injured and having an absolutely awful year. I really don't need to see another "low risk, high reward" trade for a guy that strikes out 35% of the time. The back of our lineup already has enough fucking K's in it. He has had one good year in 5 seasons, I'll pass.

For Crochet, he's having an absolutely dominant season (arguably the best of any starter this year), and he has 2 more years of team control. The asking price is going to be WAY higher than what teams are comfortable paying for a guy who is in his first year as a starter, IMO.

Crochet was impressive last night. Just ask Ohtani.

That said, he's another limited innings pitcher. We've got plenty of those.

jeff passan saying arozarena would be the “solution to our outfield woes.”
i respect passan, but .191/.304/.348 doesn’t sound like a solution to me

From the looks of him this season, Arrozerena needs less arroz con pollo.

I agree. Outfield seems like the least of our problems.

According to Monday during yesterday's game Muncy was taking ground balls, but was very cautious throwing the ball. He's obviously a long way from returning.

He doesn't fit. What the Dodgers really need is another player that plays multiple positions and therefore it's acceptable that he hits a buck-something. To give Davey, you know, options for his brilliant lineups.

I get the point about flexibility with the limited number of roster spots, but their hitting options off the bench are pitiful.
