^ i was going to go on about how healthy and effective versions of yamamoto and graterol would be invaluable assets…

    …but ultimately, what’s the point?

The intro answers your question: "Let's put the 2023 choke aside..." They don't ever want to hold DEI Dave accountable for that because it ruins their feel-good story about how the nice guy with the calming presence and friends with all has led the team to so many postseason appearances. Well, they forgot to also put the 2022 choke aside. And other years with shortcomings. Funny how the media never mentions that the Dodgers checkbook has positioned this team for 100-win (give or take) seasons and even guys at the bottom of this list like Stephen Vogt would have likely accomplished that. At what point does a team with such talented rosters expect more than locker room champagne celebrating division wins?

Dang... Vargas is hitting .122 with an OPS of .435 with the White Sox. Those are Kaylor-esque numbers.

Friedman indicated on the pregame show that they're going to do a lot of soul searching re. their approach to pitchers in the offseason.

It's not just the Dodgers. It's infected the entire game, professional and amateur.

Maybe it's me, but I don't get the jist of the " soul searching" thing he said. What do you get out of it ?
Not going for fireball RP or maximum effort pitching ? Putting less emphasis on velo ?
To me, it just seems pitchers today are just not as capable physically to last a whole season...everything bb does is to increase offense. For fan entertainment. For money.
    Everything.
I think if the soul searching is going to happen in reality, tne first thing they should do is water board the people in charge, so that they are less compelled by greed and start thinking of the overall health of the pitchers instead of rushing tbe shit out of them.
    Let's get home faster...

Im with you but dont forget the council members, preachers, teachers, police, and the landed gentry.
You know, the real responsible party/criminals.

They the everyday face of the corporate policy.

Because we all know why the Japanese had an Emperor that needed to be humbled.
We know why the Latin Americans have the best drugs and president in league with the drug producers.
I can go on and on but we all have the leaders that best represent us because that is who we are.
And that fact is truer here than anywhere else since we are the bastions of the democracy the world is currently enjoying.
But yeah, Heyward is the poster child for the current executive leadership.
They will probably make Heyward the manager once Davey retires from coaching and goes into the FO.

You do, and if looking at it clinically, the unbelievable amount of injuries in bb overall coincides exactly with the implementation of the pitch clock.
Now, maximum effort and a new wave of the type of pitchers that make the big money have something to do with it also...but the harried pace just hastens it, imo.
It just isn't happening to this degree without reasons...

When we love something for too long that isnt a reflection of the child inside of us we tend to get lost.
I mean it was a reflection of that child maybe once upon a time but that time is long gone.
Leaving us susceptible to the pain of nostalgia and the sin of tradition.
And even worse it marks us as sadomasochistic johns.
Thats when the pimps take the bubbly nympho pretty girls outta the game and start sending out the angry butch feminist looking ones instead.
They know they will make more money and you still gonna come.

At that point its like wtf are we doing here?
Maybe its time for fishing in a different barrel.
Or else we gonna keep eating black catfish instead of red snapper.
