Walter buying majority stake in Lakers? https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/...take-to-dodgers-owner-mark-walter-per-report/
What's noteworthy about this, particularly this week, is that a lot of Boston fans are floating a conspiracy theory that the Red Sox ownership group, which owns other sports teams, traded Devers to create financial flexibility for one of their other teams.
Old friend of mine works for Guggenheim in their legal dept. He's said for years what everyone in the company knows openly - that Walter won't be happy until he has a piece of every major sport on the planet. I wish I had that guy's bank acct for 60 minutes. I'd hit every ATM in Kentucky ...
i really don't care for numbers when it comes to sports much at all although i will pay attention since its become so much a part of sports and is obviously relevant i enjoy reading your stuff because you state it in a more digestible and compact manner as opposed to stale and lengthly plus its very Dodger centric!
that seems to say its been agreed upon first thing is trade mebron for whatever you can get and start a full rebuild around Doncic might just start watching again if they can solve the boring pace of games
See y'all next year, Roki ... https://x.com/Dodgers/status/1936149436885090705?t=PdW5EAJJ5b1EpeXy0dPY0g&s=19 The Dodgers acquired LHP Zach Penrod from the Red Sox for cash considerations. In order to make room on the roster, the Dodgers transferred RHP Roki Sasaki to the 60-day injured list.
So has any official explanation been issued by MLB on how/why Tripp Gibson (not the crew chief) tossed Roberts, even though Roberts was trying to have a conversation with the home plate umpire (the crew chief)? There's no reason Gibson should've inserted himself into that interaction and even the home umpire seemed surprised.
from what i understand, managers are not allowed to leave the dugout to discuss/argue a review decision supposedly gibson warned roberts not to leave the dugout, and once he disobeyed he was tossed not a fan of the current umpires and i don't particularly care for gibson -- but for ejecting roberts i salute you with a mighty...
It's 60 days from May 14, but still not a good sign that they keep extending his IL stint. We just need the Tampa glass twosome back.
But Gibson wasn't the one that warned Roberts, it was the home ump Hudson. I support Hudson tossing him, but I really think Gibson has something against the Dodgers. Here's Jomboy... https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLIe0g6uvO8/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
I got to be acquaintances with Darell Garretson, the late great NBA referee. His son went to Servite a few years ahead of me. Darell was an honest badass, take zero-shit official. He had integrity. Just before the Tim Donaghy scandal, Darell and a few alumni were talking about bad referees. He said bluntly, "there are some that are dishonest but far more who favor teams or players. It really hurts our game." That's verbatim. The guy gave a damn about basketball ... he really did. He knew there were bad refs though. If the NBA had that scandal... how naive are we to assume MLB doesn't also have equally compromised umpires. Gibson is a twat & he either hates the Dodgers or has a grudge against some one in particular - maybe Roberts, maybe Mark Walter ... who knows? Lotsa luck proving it, right?
great post garretson was a fantastic nba ref from an era (sadly) long gone well it did occur on juneteenth and roberts claims to be (half) black so…
Yesterday: The Incline: Dodgers Podcast @TheInclinePod Braves remain committed to ace Chris Sale, but Dodgers expected to monitor the situation if the Braves have a change of heart per sources. Today: @Braves The #Braves today recalled LHP Austin Cox to Atlanta and placed LHP Chris Sale on the 15-day injured list, backdated to June 19, with a fractured left ribcage. Just mentioning the Dodgers gets a starting pitcher injured nowadays The Dodgers should try to trade for Logan Webb.
