this is exactly the problem clueless limp dick leadership afraid to hurt feelings and make a call what a fucken clown “I don’t think long-term, I’m not too concerned,” Roberts said. “He’s not going to play tomorrow. As for the home opener, we’ll just take it day by day. The recovery hasn’t gone great.”
Betts should be in fucking hospital, being treated by the top doctors available, instead of depending on statements from the uber moron manager.
He's now at 150, down from 175. Seeing his interview, he looks so gaunt, and that says a lot for someone so lean to begin with. Still hasn't been able to keep a meal down since before Tokyo. The doctors don't have an answer, they're just trying different medications. I feel for him and actually am concerned for him. And he says those two plane rides were the worst ever. I can't even imagine. One time I was flying SFO to Phoenix for a bachelor party. Before the flight I felt off but decided to push through it. Terrible decision - I basically stayed in the lavatory the whole flight. The sink next to me got clogged and I just kept vomiting. Got to the rental house - everyone went out to Scottsdale and I stayed in and kept puking. Anyhow, I digress - Mookie's issue is terrible, and it can be scary having unexplainable health issues. Forget baseball for now, I just hope they can figure it out and it's something he can put behind him.
I genuinely like Mookie (ultra homo) & while his BLM horseshit of a few years ago leaves me perplexed, I admire him as much as anyone in the game short of Kershaw. He's a legit star. Still, as has been stated better than I can do here, wtf is up letting him board a flight? If any decision of Roberts' in his stint here deserves dismissal, it's this. Lead your team like a boss or GTFOOH.
Still a great clip ... and reason enough to put Jim Leyland in the Hall of Fame... I know ... he's already in. But if he wasn't... put him in anyway.
Ah, the truly dark days of Dodgers past. The period during which McCourt's Dodgers allowed the hated Gnats to somehow capture three championships. What a stain on the history of this organization. It's usually better to allow this to fade off into obscurity, but since you brought it to our attention TB, let's take a closer look at what we were dealing with. Our rotation at the time consisted of Kershaw, Billingsley, Capuano, Harang, and the fifth spot was first filled by a still-green Eovaldi - until he was jettisoned to Florida in the Hanley trade - and later by the portly Joe Blanton. Only Kersh was a noteworthy starter and finished second in CY voting. Capuano, Bilingsley, and Harang were pretty much the same pitcher - mid 3's ERA, WHIP in the 1.25-1.50 range, and a W/L percentage of around .500. Harang was definitely the worst of the three, making him #4 in the rotation, as TB noted. Really all three of these guys should've been a #4 or 5 - not 2 or 3. Offensively only Ethier (.812 OPS) and AJ Ellis (.786 OPS) had solid seasons, each with WARs in the mid-3's. The rest of the starters couldn't piece together an entire season. Kemp only played in 106 games, and the next best WAR after that was Mark Ellis with just 2.6. Man, just thinking about how anemic this offense was (not even one player scored 80 runs) re-stirs the hatred I had for McCourt. But what do you expect when your corner infielders (Loney and Luis Cruz) combine for 10 HRs? The only good thing that came from this year, well actually two things... Guggenheim bought the team, and Loney plus four no-names were traded late in the season for AGon, Beckett, Crawford, and Punto. And it marked the beginning of a slow process by the new ownership group to repair all the damage caused by McCourt and his wife.
According to Roberts, so probably wrong, Betts was finally able to keep a meal down, will be penciled in tonight, and should start in the home opener. Great news if accurate.
I was thinking the same. I know if I couldn't hold a meal for 3 weeks and lost 25 lbs, I'd be weak as hell. No disrespect to Mookie, but in this condition is he really a better option than Rojas or Kike? (Notice the intentional CT omission). Maybe start him on Thursday just for ceremonial reasons, then pull him and give him some time to rebuild his strength.
I'm getting basic cable w internet and streaming of games for $60 a month locked in for 2 years and supposedly it comes w an Apple TV type box w 250 apps so thats sounding like a winner for me pay t mobile $35 just for internet atm
That bitch be anything but stupid, though... Quietly, under the wire, one of the most clever, savvy moves in modern history, imo.
Well if my memory serves me right and that was a condition for him to cede team ownership, it was still a major win for the organization and fan base - even with him still profiting from parking revenue. At least he and she can't use the team as their personal ATM anymore.
absolutely, he even left his ex in the dust but I still hate thinking of him and those years no way they should have left him a shred of any part of DS remember him showing up in front row in a big collar suit w a new bimbo at the stadium? and then Mr. Wonderful is trying to partner with him to buy tik tok? as litigious as he is it amazes me anyone would get involved w him
