Really crazy is that Puzo's initial script draft was copied off and Coppola handed out those copies to about a 100 Italian men he trusted- all NY Italians - one was George Patitucci. Those fellas gave feedback on the legit content & later drafts reflected that intel.

Lucky me ... 20 years after GF1 came out, I dated George's daughter Joanie. So I got to eat lasagna at Sunday dinner with the family while thumbing through that draft.
