    About a month ago I posted that I was coming to the realization that May is probably no better than a mediocre pitcher -- 4.50 ERA and only because of the Dodgers' higher run support, a .500 pitcher.

    Well over the last five games (about a month), the .500 part is right with a 2-2 record, but his ERA was 6.67. Throw out the two outlier games (7 runs in 4.2 innings, 2 runs in 7 innings) and his ERA was still 5.63 in the other three.

    I keep reading speculation that once Snell returns, Sheehan will go to the pen. I really don't get this. I'd rather see Emmet stay in the rotation and move May to the pen. That way, you can use May in relief for 2-3 innings, but if he starts imploding, pull him after three batters.

    Seems like common sense to me. What am I missing? Well, other than the obvious...

    May doesn't throw strikes. Not sure that will play out of the pen.

    They've go to find a way to get Sheehan more innings.
