BZoo & FSU especially ... I wonder if you could beat this list with 1 or 2 that were left off... https://youtube.com/shorts/nqYarjYiI5I?si=jcQE_HhrU4J4hjeg Got to agree with Luis Tiant ...
Going way back....Rip Sewell's delivery with the eephus pitch. Teddy Ballgame straightened that one out. The great Fernando. Dan Quisenberry
Even DD was unorthodox...a true sidearmer. I remember Wilbur A. "Candy" Cummings, too...who threw an underhanded curve ball, the first ever, they say. I was just a kid then, maybe 14 or 15, but it was something. Candy went to the Hall, btw.
Just finished it and it's better than I gave it credit for. The sequences with Trenien and Buehler in game 5 were great. I think it would've been better if condensed down to a single 90-minute special.
A few notes out of OKC... As you know, the PCL is a hitter-friendly league, so you may not believe it's possible to post numbers this bad, but I assure you they're accurate. Outman is hitting .152 with an OPS of .542 and has struck out a team high 14 times (33 ABs). As bad as Pages has looked, Outman is currently no threat to his job security. Kim has 4 doubles and a triple, and an OPS of .823, but is striking out once every 3 ABs. Rushing's OPS is .993. Feduccia is hitting too and continues to look like a viable replacement for Barnes next year. Matt Sauer getting the call up for Snell is a bit perplexing. He looked okay in his one start for OKC -- 3 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER -- but was downright putrid for the Royals last year. Not sure how he's a better option than Gonsolin, Miller, Wrobleski, or Knack, all of whom have pitched this month and have decent overall numbers. I guess you can say Gonsolin is not stretched out yet, and Miller is still a work in progress (6 walks yesterday), but Knack and particularly Wrobleski seem ready to step up. I don't get it, but there's likely more than meets the eye. Just speculating... perhaps they don't expect Snell out for long and don't want to burn an option on Knack or Wrobleski. Just would hate to see Sauer get lit up (if he gets the start tomorrow) and leave the BP with 7 innings to clean up. Edit: CBS sports shows Wrobleski starting tomorrow's game, but the official roster on mlb.com lists Sauer on the team and Wrobleski not. As a side note, it also shows that Feduccia got called back up. Hmmm...
there were giants (spoiled nepo babies) in the land before the flood the were giants (spoiled nepo babies) in the end times like before the flood nepo baby is the same as nephilim nephilim are born to be doomed
hoping its about a trade for a center fielder that's totally atrocious from Outman and it seems the people saying it may be over for him weren't wrong unfortunately hope he had a good education and has something to fall back on
Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's done. O for 2 so far today, 2 K's, 3 LOB. He just got fanned by Hunter Strickland stranding runners on 2nd and 3rd. If you can't hit in that league, you've got no chance in the bigs. It's a shame, he showed promise a couple years ago, but clearly it wasn't lasting.
Octavio Dotel, former Dodger, died today while in a club in Santo Domingo because the roof caved in. His neck was broken, and 45 others reportedly have died also. Man, what a way to go...RIP .
Shohei Ohtani has very quietly donated his 5.5 million dollars endorsement fee to a children's hospital in Japan. Way to go, Sho.
I guess between him and Wrobleski, it makes sense. Really wish Gonso was ready - he pitched 1.2 innings last week and then 3.1 on Wednesday. Probably needs one more start in OKC before he's ready. Meanwhile, Bobby Miller is on the mound today. 2.79 ERA but 8 walks in 9 innings. In fact, more BBs than Ks. Let's see if Wild Thing can control the zone a little better in this one.
