    • Jon Heyman reported that the Yankees, who have been gunning to re-sign Cody Bellinger and are widely thought of as the favorites, have given him a formal offer, and Buster Olney speculated that it was somewhere in the realm of five years and $130 million.
    $26M/year for 5 years?!!!
    that is one of the most ridiculous overpays i’ve ever heard
    really hoping this prices us out and AF & co focus elsewhere (tucker/bichette)

    @dodger_daily
    The Dodgers spend the big bucks; there's no questioning that, but they also are incredibly good on the margins.
    Last year, the Dodgers traded Carlos Duran, a very good 6'7 pitcher, for Esteury Ruiz. Duran became a free agent after last year, and the Dodgers re-signed him to a Minor League contract.
    So, when that happened, the Dodgers had both Ruiz and Duran, then traded Ruiz for a really talented young pitcher.
    So, the Dodgers took one player, Carlos Duran, and flipped him into 2, one having helped the Major League club.
    They do stuff like this fairly consistently, and these headlines get buried because there is so much other high-profile stuff happening with LA, it goes unnoticed. But these margins, as we've seen, absolutely matter! #dodgers#dodgersprospects

    Classic!

    First time I've seen all three pitches. Funny, the one that broke the window is the only one that wouldn't have hit the batter.

    Ernie Clement would only be squeezed for playing time if the Blue Jays re-signed Bo Bichette, which @Ken_Rosenthal believes is increasingly unlikely.

    as a dodger fan, you gotta love this…

    @FoulTerritoryTV
    The Dodgers, as their own people say, like hanging around the backboard, says @Ken_Rosenthal.
    "If something falls to them at a price they like, they're there. They cannot be ruled out on anything."

    @UnderdogMLB
    Blue Jays have "increased their efforts" to sign Kyle Tucker, per @MitchBannon.
    Re-signing Bo Bichette is increasingly unlikely.

    On Dodger Talk - Vassegh reported:
    • Skubal trade is not happening this offseason
    • Based off all Twitter reports, believes Bichette is done in Toronto and a perfect fit for the Dodgers
    • He thinks Kyle Tucker hates baseball & there's little pressure in Canada
    • Wants Dodgers to trade for Wilyer Abreu
    • Mentioned Teoscar Hernandez is in great shape + his bounce back pick for 2026. Wants him in left field

    so tucker is anthony rendon 2.0?
    agree on skubal and bo
    no way the chowds give us abreu who is under team control until 2030 — especially after how badly we fleeced them getting mookie
    cautiously optimistic on teo… in LF only

    Lot of good stuff here.

    Yes, Skubal is looking like more of a trade deadline move for some team.

    I read a more detailed piece yesterday on Tucker... summary is that he doesn't have the mental makeup to play in a high pressure setting, and for that reason both the NYY and NYM have decided he's not a fit for them. Toronto sounds perfect and I could see a deal being announced shortly. This is good because I'm against the Dodgers signing him.

    I'm really hoping Dodgers sign Bichette. Would be great to have his bat and his youth on this team whose core is getting up in years. And as much as I wouldn't mind seeing either Edman or Kim excel at 2B, neither projects to ever match Bichette at the plate. Then that would bump Tommy to CF (hopefully he'll be physically ready for that come spring), and that moves Pages to RF and Teo to LF. We can get by with that for a year and hope that a prospect emerges later in '26 or by the beginning of '27.

    We didn't just fleece them with Mookie, but potentially on the May trade as well.

    And on a separate but related topic, one more reason that I really don't want Bellinger back... He's made it clear that his first choice is to resign with the Yanks, but if that doesn't happen then Dodgers are his second choice. Fuck that... last year's team seemed like all guys who were exactly on the team they wanted to play for, not second choices. Dodgers don't need him.

    agree with this completely
    skubal gets flipped at the deadline
    fuck that pussy tucker
    get us bo
    forgot about dmay… boston probably has AF’s number blocked
    as for cody… i never wanted him and his shitty home/road splits back
    will always be grateful for all his contributions, but he’s nowhere near worth the price/years he’s asking
