The Cubs' deal for Edward Cabrera is complete, per source. The Marlins will receive OF Owen Caissie (Cubs No. 1 prospect, overall No. 47 in @MLB per @MLBPipeline), INF Cristian Hernandez (No. 11) and 3B Edgardo DeLeon.

 

I don't see the value in this for the Cubs. Cabrera seems average at best, but I suppose it depends on how big their need was for a starting pitcher.

 

If he can actually stay healthy this would be good news.

MLB broadcaster Jenny Cavnar believes LA should go ahead and pursue former Dodgers MVP and champion, Cody Bellinger.
