I think the number Tucker gets will start with a 3 and it is something the Dodgers should absolutely consider doing.

As long as character and medicals are good, I have changed my tune on signing Kyle Tucker
If you look at the last 5 years as a whole, dude is a stud
Sign him at any expense, really
Solves a huge problem for us OF and will be barely turning 29 when the 2026 season starts
Gets Teo out of RF and gives our prospects plenty of time to develop or even be traded

Sounds like there's a whole lot of interest around the league in Tucker though so guess we're going to find out pretty quick how interested they are

 

Mostly thought about it from a stock perspective
With stocks, when I first look at a chart, I like to look at a 20Y chart then work my way down to a shorter timeframe
Looking at Tucker on a year-by-year basis felt like I was super zoomed in, not looking at the bigger picture
Tucker has been a stud over the past 5 years, a top 10 player in his late-20s
We may have to pony up some big bucks, he is a better player than Vladdy

 

That's not what my Chicago buddy says about him
He says he's not very clutch and injury-prone
And no way he'd want the Cubs to pony up 400 mil for a longer-term contract but that's him

Dude had an awesome first half of the year and an awful 2nd half of the season
I'd argue his body of work suggests that is anomaly not a pattern
Plus, the Cubs owner acts like they are a mid-market team not like they are the fucking Chicago Cubs
Cubs fans know that if they sign Tucker, or anybody, to a massive contract that is going to be the only person of note they sign for the duration of the whole contract
The injuries in the past couple of season are concerning — that'd be the only reason I would not want him in a Dodgers uniform
