    Diaz' last outing was a spot on Scott (as a Dodger) imitation. Walk followed by a hanging slider that got crushed for a 2 run HR.

    Dave Roberts said the Dodgers felt Alex Freeland showed more in at-bat quality than his poor spring numbers indicated. Goal is to get Hyeseong Kim everyday at-bats in OKC to keep going through swing tweaks, with Freeland starting at 2B vs. RHP.

    While odds are they won't ALL make it, it's not beyond the realm of possibility that in five years each (or at least most) are on a ML roster, and if that's the case, it obviously won't be just the Dodgers roster.

    I say that IF Detroit stumbles and IF the Dodgers starting pitchers don't hold up, health wise, Friedman should make a hard push for Skubal at the trade deadline. On paper they'll probably have to give away more prospect talent than a 2-3 month rental is worth, but if that helps get a three-peat, it would be well worth it.

    The Roberts quote that I read was that Freeland "had quality at-bats, he just didn't finish them."

    What??? Did Dave like his choice of walk-up music? Was Freeland's shoeing of the dirt in the batter's box impressive? Maybe Dave was enamored with Alex's stance?

    In my book, finishing an AB well is a pretty major component of it being quality.

    was thinking this could be part of the reason freeland is up
    hoping to showcase him as part of a potential trade for skubal
    of course he’ll have to hit for that to work

    Take that for what it's worth.
    Alex Freeland being too passive at the plate has been a knock on him for some time though.

    I see a lot of shit on X from supposed Dodgers fans actively rooting against Alex Freeland
    I don't understand that at all
    It's not his fault the organization thinks this is the best path forward for them, Freeland, and Kim
    Maybe it's a personality thing; maybe they think this show of confidence will help Freeland grow into the player they see
    Who knows
    I just don't understand actively rooting against Freeland

    i'd be fine w bringing Barnes back as a coach and potentially a player if sex lips Rushing continues to look less than mediocre in the show
    also fine that the Dodger FO knows more than the rest of us when it comes to the reasons for keeping Freeland up
    Dodger fans rooting against him is bizarre and seems like it could be rooted in the usual moronic racism out there
    from the outside i just want the best players playing and could care less but Kim seemed to deserve the shot
    just part of being a fan but rooting against a guy wtf?

    Roberts is doing him no favors telling him he's fine and throwing him out there. Get Ryan up on the roster and let Roki continue to try to work through his issues in the minors before there's irreparable damage done to his psyche.
