Agree and think Klein has earned his shot
Barring a horrible preseason or injury those would be my choice too

The Ohtani rule is actually a bigger advantage than I originally realized. I don't know if the Dodgers would be able to run a 6-man rotation without it. They still get to roster 8 relievers, like every other team. According to AI, the Orioles tried a 6-man towards the end of last season, and the '23 Phillies and Mariners dabbled with it, but there's a reason it's not used as extensively as the Dodgers do, and that's that it would seriously short-staff the pen.

It is seeming more and more likely that Kris Bryant won't play in the Majors ever again - that's how bad his lumbar degenerative disc disease is.
If that's the case, he will end up playing 170 of a possible 1,134 games (15%) on his 7-year/$182M contract, producing a -1.6 WAR.

hard not to feel bad for bryant
the rockies too, just not as much

My neuro doctor in Louisville diagnosed & treated me for forominal spinal stenosis. It's like sciatica, but add prolonged, and more profound levels of agony while sitting, standing, walking, and .... wait for it ... lying down. It's a near-exploded disc, lumbar5 in my case - my sacrum joined the party, so it was if I was being kicked in deez nutz by any movement, except oddly-twisted sleep positions.

I say all of this (egomaniac?) not to boast but to agree that Bryant is likely doneski. As much in-shape as he is & pear-shaped as I am, spines gonna spine, baby. And I've read EVERYTHING on spinal repair that's out there - and there's no return of full functionality thereafter. It's the end of over 90% of athletes diagnosed with stenosis. It's degenerative. Do not pass go.

    sorry about your back bro
mine hurts from time to time but nowhere near as badly as yours
obviously hindsight, but maybe you should have thought about being the pitcher instead of the catcher

Yency Almonte is back in Dodgers camp according to his Instagram!
Almonte had a 1.02 ERA with the Dodgers in 2022 before shoulder troubles took their toll. Should be healthy now after pitching just 34 innings in the for the Cubs/in the minors over the last two seasons.

I remember that great season and then I think he got traded with Busch. Good to have him back for whatever that's worth. Sounds like a no-risk signing, although he will face stiff competition for making it back to the bigs.

    mind boggling

    @BBGreatMoments
Greg Maddux faced 20,421 batters over the course of his career. Only 310 (1.5%) saw a 3-0 count. Of those, over half of them (177) were intentional walks.

Agreed. Injuries can account for some of the underperformance, but like Kike his best use is as a utility fill-in and spot starter. If either of these two are being used every day, that signifies a shortcoming with the roster.

Besides, expectations for Kim were that he'd be a starter when he was signed and Freeland should as well at some point if he can successfully transition from AAA. These two must realize this is their golden opportunity to claim that role.

Sources: Cuban pitcher Yadier Zamora has agreed to a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, pending a physical.

Zamora has reached 93–97 mph in multiple outings in Mexico. In his most recent tryout, he touched 97 mph.

I'd like to see Rizzo back, along with Kirsten for some hot bi-racial Dodger girl action.
This is my dream...a simple one, indeed.
Better than the lionized, inexplicably taint-licked Che Guevara's, who told Fidel Castro, " I dream of becoming a killing machine"...
