i purposely opened a classic used books store in the middle of a bar and club district
i am sandwiched by two bars and there are nother 2 across the street and more down the street and then all the clubs and show venues and restaurants that are all basically just fronts for bars
but you dont hear my talk about the stories of all the drunks that walk into my store do you?

you wont hear me talk about drunks from me much if at all
well maybe a little bit lately but sheesh, can you blame a guy?
i still never talk shit about drunks
all the people i grew up with were drunks

my family were all drunks
my friends were all drunks
the people i loved were drunks
my girlfriends were big lushes

i loved to drink but then couldnt drive to work without taking a few shots of whatever bottle was in my backseat
other than that time i never had problems with drinking
i just really really liked having friends and family
and they all drunks
and they all told me soo much advice growing up
self serving type of advice that only selfish people give or want to hear

but i never talk shit about alcoholics
because i know many alcoholics cannot escape their situation
and ive talked to so many of them that i know their struggle
which is why i try to never make fun of acoholics
and when others do i remind them that everyone has weaknesses

you fucking drunks do need to get your act together though
as you can see it leads you down the wrong mental paths
because it makes you not see who your real friends are

all you see is what your beer goggles allow
and those drinking buddies arent your friends
and those pretty women arent really girls

but its too late for you by then guy
once it feels good and warm inside
like a shot of tequila on a cold day
and you feel good like you cooking

alcoholics like to talk
they like to talk a lot
and i let them talk
and i listen to them
and they appreciate it
because i dont have to be drunk
to sit there and listen to their problems
its not like im gonna give them any life advice
other than offer them a change of pace
i give them as much weed as they can smoke
we can smoke together while you empty yourself out of the drink

so when i say i dont abide by a drunk
all i mean is that sure ill drink with you and hear your thoughts prayers
but by the end of the night you gonna be breaking down in more than just a hue and cry

@LAdiablo knows how much i appreciated his gifts
it allowed me to pay it forward and do the same
that is why ive always given him tons of respect
because when its all said and done i wont remember anything much else about him
i wont remember anything he said in the dodgers threads
i wont remember any of his funny jokes or his taste in music (ok maybe that one)
but i will remember his kindness
i wont remember when hes called himself or told stories about people calling him a good guy
but i will remember when I said he was a good guy
i will remember when he came to visit me and brought his girl
like i will remember you not for all the bullshit but for when you came to pick me up and drove me to diablos house and you had time to tell me all about your life
i saw your face then and thats the face i can see in my head
the face you have on when you get into a rage is not the face i recognize
so its like i dont know this person
