Sorry to hear about Joe, my brothers and I affectionately called him "Joe Raldi-baldi" but as you say he was funny and on point quite a bit of the time. The old guard is passing quickly.

    Good for you losing weight.

But give up something else. Like bread.

If I gave up beer I'd give up.

Quitting sugar was a lot easier than I thought. Salt is tougher, I like salty things. I also like a lot of rice dishes but the doc said just say no to rice.

Yeah it's been tough but honestly easier than ever expected.

It's cool with me if a crying wimp, bowing down to money better represents you. Just not my thing is all.

    Patriotism is an admirable trait.
    So is piety.
Ive known ministers who demand church members kneel during prayer.
Id they dont kneel then god doesnt listen or care. Thats the mantra ive heard repeated.
That kind os super piety is not piety.
    Its the opposite. Its antipiety.
Same goes for this hyper patriotism.
    Its hubris.
    Its antipatriotic.
    Its not real.
Just like a minister who learns a few things and now wishes to show off his piety the politician does with patriotism.
America is great in that they are correct. But there is not enough holy flag cloth in the nation to make an actor great.
Unlesd you already a great actor like ronnie.
All the rest are just marionettes in overpriced flag suits.
Dancing to the symphony of destruction.
Makes me miss listening to megadeath.

I quit rice for a year. Brown rice is a lie forbthe most part. Red rice is not that bad for you.
But wild/black/forbidden rice is not a rice in your bloodstream. In fact its a nutricious pseudograin like amaranth millet and quinoa.
Move to pseudo grains and move away from corn wheat and rice. You will thrive.

I started drinking a beer or two every once in a while. Lost 20 lbs in 3 weeks.
Apparently its a good stool softener...
    Also been sleeping better.
Beer tastes so much better now.
I was not much of a fan. I liked straight dry liquor and the occasional old fashioned.
If i drank beer it was something strong flavored like newcastle.
If i drank wine it was brandywine. Most likely from portugal or spain.
    I loved brandy.
    But im mexican.
If you ask for wine in mexico they serve you tequila. In fact all hard liquor is called wine in mexico. Vodka is wine. Whiskey is wine.
But no matter what you drink you always end up the same.
    Whining.
About one thing or the other.
Have a beer or two please. Then stfu.
Because strong drink makes any of us into a whiny baby.

Remember when i talked about the futility in voting. While i want to be positive and agree with you in my heart that voting is still meaningful it becomes harder and harder each crop of candidates we get.
I voted for bush the first time around.
I knew it was a bad vote the day i cast it.
    But im republican.
And im american and its my duty.
Who wanted al snore for president anyways.
Maybe al gore wouldnt be so bad for the country. Maybe mitt romney would have been better for us this past cycle.
They both seem like good alternatives to our recent past
    Point i felt defrauded.
Then i voted chuck baldwin because ron paul wasnt on the blot here.
After that i had had my fill of the charades.
Nobody yet has given me any hope that would get me to vote.
I like the obama win on an emotional and historical level. But by then i wasnt voting.
I liked trump early on also from a emotional standpoint.
But i was buying his smokescreens and magic mirrors.
