It's funny going down Memory Lane like this. I had a church key in class last week. Most of my students had never seen one before ... I remember my uncle and grandad opening beer cans with one. Talk about a different world.
Don't recall that one. If my father had lived to see people pay $12 for a sixer of IPA, it'd kill him.
Torpedos are just about my favorite. Hard to get here but the pale ale is at Kroger. Sierra Nevada & bratwursts on Saturday watching football. Pure happy.
While we're on beer, $1.35 a sixer was usual price for Bud, Coors, Oly, et. al. Local liquor store (remember those?) used to run $5/ case specials.
Had one here in Tulare called Drive-In Liquor. They sold liquor and ammo. Hunters used to stock up there.
Welp. Good night, boyos. No beer in the house so it's warm milk & off to bed for this white boy. Later.
some of my favorite beer stories were in Mexico used to pack up the motorcycles and head into Baja w San Felipe as the goal line sort of along the way we'd hit TJ first and leave the truck on the US side (not the acid and humble pie trip) then come back and start the drive down stopping all along the way we'd managed to locate the breweries somehow and i guess it wasn't that hard since we were derelicts of the highest degree but i remember a case of corona, pacifico, tecate and modelo going for like $7 so we always had an ice chest full gave rise to the infamous "bueno white boy" phrase one trip maybe i'll tell it in the walking thread its a pretty fun story
Love Torpedos. This is one of my favorites as well but I wonder how much me liking it has to do with the cool ass design...
Grossest thing I've ever had was 4 Lokos in college. Two of those for $5 and I was knocked out but they were liquid poison...man did they taste like shit MD 20/20 too...my stomach just turned thinking about those drinks
I remember seeing a six pack at a gas station for less than a dollar. I asked why the beer was cheaper than the soda. He pointed and said the breweries and all you can drink free sample tecate museum of cerveza is up the old road. I didn't make it to my original. destination that morning.
