Me too. Me too. I don't like grudges but if it goes unaddressed, it festers. Maybe over time. We'll see.
Recently, I got into a pretty bad car accident...just me, no other vehicles involved, thankfully. It had just started to rain about 5 minutes before, a steady drizzle thing. I took a curve, not more than two blocks from my house, at about 30 mph. The car went into a skid, and being only a two lane road, I had no room to steer out of it, and hit a rock wall.which forms one side of the road, the other side is an steep incline. So the car rolls over, and there I am, pretty much upside down, with no way to get out. It's volunteer.up here, so I had to wait until they were signalled and assembled and arrived...about 25 minutes. The cops were there, but had no equipment to extricate me...when the EMT guys got there I hear them debating on just what to do, and I yell to them to break out the windshield. I hear someone say "yeah, get out the canvass". They cover me up and then break out the windscreen. I slowly wiggle out and I walked to the stretcher and go to the hospital. After MRIs and a spinal check and vitals they let me go. So, lucky to be around at all. I started to read that night late in bed after the initial pain subdued somewhat, and came across an Inuit Morning Prayer I thought an omen... which goes like this: I think over again about my small adventures, My fears Those small ones that seemed so big. For all the vital things I had to get and to reach... And yet, there is only one great thing, The only thing; To live to see the Great Day that dawns And the light that fills the world. I guess it was an intense intimate experience for just me, but I thought those ancient words were worth sharing...and that primal wisdom so crystalline today as then.
Rube/Finski spat - if you guys never patch things up, just know, when I buy my sports team and I have a section solely for the DSP guys your seats will be right next to each other.
holy shit bz, that’s some scary shit glad you made it through… but sorry you had to endure yet another dodgers collapse
Upper body, chest, neck and shoulder points really sore. The seat belt fucks you up in that kind of accident, but can't go without it. I'm not exactly young, and not exactly little, so I'm lucky on that I walked away. ...and the beat goes on, bro.
Actually, muscle relaxers. I did them in my hippie days, I remember being disappointed. But these now, last week, fentanyl like. Except no death.
I doubt you're reading me these days, @Bluezoo ... but regardless, I'm glad you're alive and healing. I flipped a Ford Galaxie in the rain myself over 40 years ago. Scary business. Be well and take care.
BZ, Glad to hear you made it out and weren't hurt too badly Also, I'm taking some liberties here since I know you have Finski blocked, but I thought you might want to read just one post from him:
the narcotics that are out there are incredible but keep them at an arms length no doctor is going to prescribe anything strong atm but waking up on demerol after an endo/colo was indescribable everyone in that room could have violated my ass and it was no problem the oxy/percocet stuff makes you feel like God
Wow. Wtf is that from ? I remember cartoons when I was a little kid that had similar faces on the mouse characters. Farmer Grey would drown the cats down the well, then go the the house and open the faucet for a drink, and hundreds of cats with that face would stream out...the end. Hallowe'en in the Village of the Damned?
Friend posted a bunch of them on FB, no idea on my first day in Prague a few years back i ended up alone outside the city. when i woke very early i decided i needed to get into the city and change location so i started walking in a place w no English trying to find transportation and could see signs indicating the train was up the hill. get there and realize there's no way to pay and get a ticket and as i'm coming to that conclusion a train arrives and a throng of people dressed very much like that picture emerged w donkeys and rabbits and horns making unbelievable noise. i wish i got a picture but i was already hustling back down the hill! learned later it was some annual celebration but to say it was shocking is an understatement.
