the interviews Denzel is giving for his new movie are classics
heard an interview on the radio and the interviewer said "im hearing in your voice" and he interrupted saying "what you're hearing in my voice is God son"
sure he's not the first to use it but in the context of the interview it was pretty powerful and just further cements him as a legend to my mind
the way he speaks is something to behold and i'm sure you can hear the inflections and voice as you read his words
    long live Denzel

Denzel Washington has his own take on the cancel culture debate.

While discussing his latest film, “Highest 2 Lowest,” with Complex News, the actor posed the question, “What does that mean — to be canceled?” when asked if he ever worries about being “canceled.”

When told by the interviewer, Jillian Hardeman-Webb, “it means you lose public support,” Washington replied, “Who cares?”

Sitting with frequent collaborator and “Highest 2 Lowest” director Spike Lee, Washington continued, “What made public support so important to begin with?”

Hardeman-Webb replied that “followers now are currency,” to which Washington answered with a emboldened response.

“I don’t care who’s following who,” he said. “You can’t lead and follow at the same time, and you can’t follow and lead at the same time. I don’t follow anybody. I follow the heavenly spirit. I follow God, I don’t follow man. I have faith in God. I have hope in man, but look around, it ain’t working out so well.”

He added, “You can’t be canceled if you haven’t signed up. Don’t sign up.” While laughing and stretching his arms, he told Lee, “Don’t get me started. You know, chest is getting tight talking about it.

Only PARTLY kidding ... but more seriously than you may believe ...

If men COULD do so unilaterally, would YOU vote to remove women's voting privilege (not a right)?

I ask because it's a convo I had with three dads recently (all for removing it) that was seconded by one of the guy's wife.

Reasoning is the level of emotion that women bring to voting does not match the expectation of the founding fathers' concept. Conversely, most men wouldn't support it because they'd fear getting cut off from connubial pleasures.

I'd argue that my wife is far more rational than me.

But more importantly, why even have a conversation that detracts from what is really necessary... fixing the system so the only voters are legal citizens, alive, and can prove their identity (and citizenship)?

most men are afraid of women
most men are weaker than their wives
most men just wanna have fun
    men, they wanna have fun
    fun

    heart is a pump
    blood is ruth
    mouth is the spigot

    I think that's right thinking.

I entertained the conversation and played devil's advocate to the guy who was most for repealing the 19thA. His wife was the one who seconded his idea and we were having lots of bourbon so wtf, right?

Anyway ... it'll never happen but it was an odd topic to hammer on for about an hour.

Next, let's discuss repealing the Reconstruction Amendments 13-15

    Sincerely,

    Thurgood Marshall

Today is NATIONAL DOG DAY...As the well known and oft- quoted philosopher, Diablo has written, " How can you live without them "?...
And Andy Pages says " give your dog an extra treat today"!!!

Almost got our dag over the weekend. Pretty mutt female wandering all day without a leash or a collar. Kids fell in love in about 4 minutes. I kept her overnight & posted to the neighborhood FBook group... owner claimed her later the next day.

Too bad. She would've been perfect. Mostly a Labrador with some German shepherd in her, about 2 years old at most.

Too bad...but it's as easy for the kids to fall immediately in love again...it only takes a simple trip with everyone down to the shelter. Definitely sounds like you're all ready for a new family member.
When you do it, ( not IF ), make sure you post and let us know.
The signs are right...the omens read well...

Although... our dog seems to get more "rewards" than her midsection can handle. The benefit of having multiple hands around her all day.

Still think, even with all his great roles and how he's handled each of them, the best I ever saw him was in "Glory". Talk about unforgettable...
In fact, one of the best films I've ever seen.

"And that is when the mutual benefits of walks bring joy and health to all concerned" some dag owner
there are others around that only experience the "heres a treat" moment and think the animal loves them for it
maybe they do a little but i'm pretty zealous about controlling not only frequency but type of treat they can give
my brother used to bring the costco treats from china and all their gummy stomach horrors
even after explaining the whys he was genuinely offended i would prevent him feeding her that shit
its cool since she's going on 11 and her sister 7 w no signs of slowing down

I surely meant only quality treats...
Completely off the canine track...I was reading an article today about Morris the Cat. Remember him ?
A orange tabby who they used to hawk '9 Lives' cat food.
He filmed 58 commercials during his reign as "spokescat". He was a shelter rescue, and only other rescues were ever used after he passed.
He lived to the ripe old age of 19.
Wonder if they fed him 9 Lives?

    100 percent
a lot of people think they love their dogs and their dogs love them back
they scratch teh dogs back and the dog scratches their back
but it takes a good parent to know the difference between love and convenience
for a lot of people their dog relationship is similar to their other relationships
what do i have to give to dog so dog gives me what i want from dog

just because somebody coddles your nuts it doesnt mean they your friend
maybe they really love nuts and its a treat for them to coddle?

love means saying no here and there, but it also means saying yes on a regular schedule
    because love = education
    and education = patience
you have the most patience for those who you love enough to take their barks and bites
