Watched it. It's OK. Better than nothing but how can you top the original? Reiner's best film in my limited opinion is The Princess Bride ... to adapt a William Goldman novel into a film is like splitting the atom. So many other good films but that one stands apart. But dear Lord .... North was an atrocious piece of shit.
Reiners son must have shared your opinion. And not the opinion of his dad and the movie. Being born North... Its A Wonderful Life.
Neighbor on my street had one of her dags die yesterday. She's very down in the mouth and when we walked our beagle past her door, she came out to say hello and pet her. Touching stuff. I watched this clip on X ... talk about emotional stuff. I'm hugging my dag Ella right now. How in the blue feck did two months around some stinky hound make me so attached to her so fast. ... and it's not like @irish & I either. That's just lust.
Shit .... condolences, brother. God bless that breed, too. That was our first choice but none were available ... unless we paid premium price for a purebred with papers...
I heard an old myth that when Cain killed Abel God sent him away with a canine as a pet and he built it a shed and made him a bed and that became the first city and its why before a king makes his palace he first builds a temple of the dog. I also heard an old myth that Adolph the great and noble wolf had a series of dogs all his life and was a serious lover of the dog. Specially the eastern german shepherd that jumped higher than the western german shepherd and the reason why all shepherds now have bad hips and also why white men cant jump. I hear things in my little bookstore. Even though i shut it down for the winter. Its getting close to leave my cocoon again though. And time to open back up and show some more of what i got in store. Stories galore for the gaoler dujour. Here is one about a dog, some cats, and a squad of pigs in a big white house. Spoiler alert: The Dog is dead, long live the Dog. No matter what you hear on TV and other stories... Pigs hate Dogs. Pigs are envious of Dogs. Pigs wish they were Dogs. Pigs steal Dogs and train them to hate like Pigs hate. All through the snout of the Pig. Even the almighty Dog is made to be as low as a Pig when his snout is put under the Pigs programming to think, hunt, and smell like a Pig. And root for truffles and other underground hidden funguises. Oh and the cats... cats are invisible but their eyes see in the dark.
he was eleven and seemed as healthy as could be regular vet visit with tests two days later we’re told they found cancer three months later he’s gone still can’t believe it
Always so tough even though we know it's how life works. Our border collie is seven now and I dread that day. I'm not a cat person but when our kids were young they wanted kittens so we got them a pair of Burmese. One was the typical lap cat but the other thought it was a dog. We'd repeatedly throw his toy mouse and he'd fetch it and drop it next to us. Anyhow, in just a matter of days he got really sick and took his death breath in my arms. Hard to witness as it was, I can't imagine seeing our collie go through that.
that's really fucked up and we went through the cancer thing a few years back with a rott used to have some cool packs w rott, akita and chow mix and then the rotts one leg suddenly got huge and we had vets come to the house elected to keep him around a little longer and it just took over so fast had the vets back and at the time decided to put down the chow mix we had as well since she was nearly blind and starting to fade hard that was a terrible day and left us w the two akitas i have today the one that stays in my room is almost 11 and still full of life but you see it in the eyes and notice changes of behavior the last six pups i've had, 2 rotts 1 akitaand 3 chow or chow mix, are all buried outside my window only "cure" i've found is getting to know another and on it goes wish they'd bury me with all my guys can't imagine life without them
popped up on my facebook so i could drag it over here akitas hardly ever play ball and especially this girl should i throw one she typically looks at me like you might want to go get that this is Suki and she is universally loved by many but only listens to me total character and we've been battling a skin/allergy condition the last few years over 10 and has the spirit of a 4 year old this is the Groot and she is the best hunter i've ever owned can kill anything that move including rabbits and squirrels super fast and loves 3 people in the world and doesn't care to know anyone else pretty close to a wolf
Eventually, that light shines on us all... Recently saw this...I thought it simple and to the point: It read above " why dogs are happier than we are"... Photo from the rear of a guy sitting on a log, with his dog next to him. In thought balloons over his head, there was one with money in it, another with a sports car, another with a passenger jet plane taking off. Over the dog's head was a balloon of the dog sitting next to the guy on the log... I think one of the best things (one, mind you) dags can teach us is that the now is the only sure thing.
Rest in peace, Scott Adams ... been watching his morning coffee podcast on X for over a year; a must-watch ... I'll miss him. A solid man.
