One of my favorite clips from the Sopranos was when Christopher gets shot and finally comes out of a touch and go situation and someone asks him how he is...and he says, " it was a fucking nightmare, man...I kept on dreaming over and over it was St. Patty's Day... "
Yeah ... that was a solid moment in the show. Italian mafia guys are beautifully incongruous: they consider themselves clean & classy but the Irish are stinky & low-class ... and yet, go to Little Italy in NY (it's down to one street now, btw) & smell the stink coming out of that hood. It's not all garlic & savory - the BO coming off those dagos smells despite the gallons of Drakkar they bath in.
OK...I didn't post the Sopranos scene dialogue as a statement on Irish personal hygiene, but if that's your experience in Little Italy, so be it. My grandparents are from Naples, and my great grandparents on the other side are from Cork. So, I'm just a genetic filthy motherfucker, I guess. And all wops don't use Drakkar to cover their b. o...I use Tuscany. Of course. What am I ? A fucking Viking?
I was just recalling one day in Little Italy... I got the walking tour from Richie Papillano, an AC Jersey guy who loved his Irish mother very much. BO happens. It isn't ethnic... unless you're Richard Pryor ...
amazing how quickly they tore down Ceasar Chavez have to figure those allegations were always out there right?
Probably... just like when he used the term "wetback" almost exclusively to refer to illegal alien Mexicans. I'm surprised- Chavez was 100% socialist, born & raised by rogue Catholic priests in Arizona. Lots of breakaway clergy there. Not what you'd call Papal-allegiant either. The Left has genuflected to him for 50 years. Now this. Weird.
and that fucknut bass already renaming his day based solely on unsubstantiated accusations from one person not saying he couldn’t have done it, but it’s a pretty slippery slope to make a decision based solely on the word of an accuser 30+ years after the fact not to mention the slap in the face to mexican americans
From 1997-99, I taught in Compton Unified. I learned more than my students did. Here's what I learned about Black & Mexican rivalry there - on MLK Day, Mexican kids would interrupt the festivities constantly. Conversely, Black kids did same on Cesar Chavez Day. It was vicious, too - 4th & 5th grade kids throwing down in the gym and the like. It'll be interesting if the Latino lobby will go after MLK's history of raping & brutalizing prostitutes... https://theconversation.com/im-an-m...be-able-to-view-king-in-the-same-light-118015
what's weird is i hear a lot of Latino voices loudest calling to remove everything and yeah basshole quick to act on something that means nothing of course
Judas priest, this is gruesome .... https://x.com/i/status/2033990247558881741 Careful ... this is a double murder on video. Cambodians really take honor seriously apparently.
Kids are watching Tororo AGAIN tonight. Apparently, they think I'm Totoro, especially the bellowing, monstrous, corpulent aspect... thanks, kids.
this dude has been a badass his entire life! @WilliamShatner At 95, I'm still smokin'! I’ve learned two things: Never waste a good cigar. Never trust anyone who says you should ‘act your age.’
RIP Valerie Perrine...voluptuous babe extraordinaire...Superman, Lenny, and Slaughterhouse 5 are the films I remember her most in.
was too young to fully realize whether or not she was a great actress but it seemed like she was in a lot of movies/shows and of course she was willing to take off her clothes on camera so she got my attention RIP from this wanker
She was a servicable actress, obviously type cast because of the package, like MM and many others...but she was damn good in Lenny, as Honey somebody, who was Bruce's squeeze for quite a while.
