Chargers just being the Chargers. Rams were competitive for most of the game. Quite a difference for them having a healthy Stafford and a decent O line.
So ... old bastard that I is ... I taught my students about Gale Sayers today. His book, I Am Third is the basis for a journal prompt that I use. Anyway, when I asked the kids (15 & 17 yrs old) to name great RBs, I got silence. Then I realized - running back has become a throw away position now. It's all QB, WR, and TE now. So one kid says, 'Derrick Henry' ... ok. So I try to explain that Sayers was easily ten Henrys, and if not for injury (which today would have been easily repairable), Sayers would be a top 3 all timer. I got an eye roll. This is why I'm not long for education. First, Sayers was incredible. Second, in my day, teachers beat the shit out of kids for half that disrespect. And finally, wtf can you tell a teenager today who hasn't seen legit football yet? It's not their fault. We let them fuck this game up with "end racism" painted in end zones and two anthem bullshit. Fuck it ... I'm old and I need a drink.
