    I worry about a lineup that struggles against journeyman LHPs like Lauer. Manager is least of this team's worries. When moves work, they're great. When they don't the manager is a dumb ass.

    True...but the nature of the game, I fear. Apropos what you wrote, I just don't want a lineup with dead spots all in a row, which Dave does do quite often.
    The other side of the coin, however, at this time, is that the lineup is in multiple contributions mode...the best status we could possibly be in offensively.
    No one player has to carry the team when a bunch of guys are squaring it up.
    And then we can excoriate anyone who doesn't contribute.

    Laurer has faced the Dodgers twice this season. His line so far has been
    14.2 IP, 1 ER, 11 H, 3 BB, 13 K's
    This guy is either on or way off. Needs to throw strikes or seems to get lit up. Dodgers haven't faced him since early July so the lineup has seen some changes, but he has also been on a bit of a good streak since returning from an injury.

    I think Roberts hinted at this the other day, but it's official now that Stripling is going tonight and Hill tomorrow. ESPN said a week ago that Hill has been battling blister issues again, but after watching a couple of their games this week, who know if they actually knew that or were taking a shot in the dark as I have been really unimpressed with some of their commentator research.

    I’m sitting here listening to MLB Network idiots, and I literally want to throw a brick through the TV onto Harold Reynolds face.
