Something tells me that the more fans boo Jansen, as they did when the run scored last night, the more Stubborn Dave will want to prove that he's still a closer.
Like Lawrence Welk playing the Sgt. Pepper album.
The walk was his major sin that inning. The hits were a jam shot and a seeing eye ground ball through the shift.
He isn't hit hard that often. It's the walks and lack of command that get him trouble and take years off my life.
Treinen pitched to the middle or top of the lineup the last two nights in the 8th. Much prefer that to Kenley pitching to those hitters.
Sad thing that should have been a 8 or 9-2 lead. Offense was disgusting again last night. Should never have had to use their high leverage relievers.
I like long legs, that's why I say inseam...like "her legs go all the way up". And in shape black chicks like her have the best thighs, you know that.
I may be old, but I ain't dead.

Early grade on the Lux to 3B experiment is a resounding F. Looked like shit in the field and compounded it by looking the same way at the plate.
Frustrating to go 9-1 over our last 10 and not gain even half a game on the stinking Giants.
There's a chance the Dodgers will be playing a team they're at least 10 games better than in the standings in the WC game if we can't catch SF.
The 2nd WC is dumb as hell.....and yes I am partially saying that because of where we are in the standings.
I agree that in the last two games it was more ideal to have Treinen on in the 8th against the strongest part of their lineup, with Jansen left to eke out a save against their weaker hitters. But how often do we have to see the catcher set up high, or outside, and Kenley's pitch comes right down the middle of the plate? I don't know, I'm seeing some pretty hard hit shots. Tsutsugo - he of the the .150 BA - only has five doubles on the season and two of them came against Jansen over the last couple nights. There is absolutely nothing about this guy that gives me confidence as a closer should.
Of course, your last point was spot on. We should not be struggling to score against these pitchers and this team. But Davey feels like he needs to treat his players with kid gloves, making sure they get plenty of rest. He's the one putting the team in this situation, and will continue doing so.
You have to know this is a Roberts/front office thing, not just a Roberts thing.
roberts is an idiot
not a time to put guys like taylor and especially lux in positions they're not familiar with
in fact, why is lux in the lineup at all?
should have been eased back in and certainly not at 3b
taylor needs a rest
hasn't had a day off in who knows how long and it's beginning to show
as for kenley...
he still has the potential to be effective, but imo he's no longer an elite closer
he misses location both badly and frequently
and whatever that shimmy thing he's doing is, it's fucken retarded
oh yeah, and stop being so worried about runners on 2b trying to steal your signs
if you can't hit your spots, it doesn't really matter
personally i'd rather see treinen or knebel close
but they're both white so...
Descalfini is done after one due to an injury covering first base. Hope this means the Mets will put up some runs now.
Villar got picked off first, which means the pitcher leads off the next inning. Idiot.
Even their owner is on twitter calling them a bunch of losers.
The Mets are going to pass the Jets as the biggest joke in the state....at least the Knicks made the playoffs.
It means zero runs and a grand total of two hits. That's the whole ball of Met wax...
And that we have to win just to stay where we are now...
The pitcher's spot and then top of the order. Now would be a good time for their offense to do something...
What a lifeless team….the Pirates show more heart.
and watch the mets come here and take 3/4
