Very good! Rich, secular humanist jewish fellow in his 60s who looked like Charlie Steiner and managed to know even less than Charles about baseball.
It used to be as simple as the media is sensational because that's what we pay attention to. That's what we click on. That's the channel we stay tuned into. Maybe it's just amplified now. Possibly so. But I think there is something far deliberate and precise about who they go after (and how hard) these days. It's not equal opportunity sensationalism. It's complete fiction by people who want to create the world in their own image.
Unbelievable, isn't it? Everyone should know by now these kind of things are Kershaw's fault... Damn idiots.
For better or worse, I think the federal government is going to encourage people, businesses, and states to get back to work sometime in the next 20 days. I don't know if that means 56,000 people can gather in stadiums, but most of the economy will probably resume.
Absolutely and without question. My old roommate is a Disney executive who works at the resort here in Anaheim; he's top 10 in the operations of that park every day. He told me yesterday without any fanfare that Disneyland will be back open by April 15th. Take that for what it's worth.
I think that partisan cable 'news' channels and online, subscription based content with niche audiences supports your theory. However, mass appeal over-the-air networks such as ABC, NBC, and CBS are some of the worst offenders. There's no way those networks are capable of telling anyone what they want to hear because their audience is too diverse, and most viewers don't have a passionate worldview anyway. But that plays to their advantage. Through sheer volume and amplification of negative coverage, they can successfully create the perception of controversy (or whatever they want) to those who don't really pay attention. For instance, a guy who doesn't follow politics or remember anything about High School civics picks up a newspaper to read the sports section but sees "IMPEACHED" on the front page with Trump's face....He turns on the news to check the weather and the segment is tent-poled by two negative Trump stories. THAT's the goal of the MSM. To put their ideas into the heads of people who are not in the market for it. FOX News, MSNBC, CNN, The Young Turks, Daily Wire, etc. all exist for people who are in the market for politics and yes, want to be reaffirmed of their beliefs. But the truest of mainstream media has a different goal.... ...Telling the passive people WHAT they (the media) think the audience SHOULD hear.
^As I say this, however, I do think CNN is the worst because it fits into the category of partisan affirmation channels while still purporting to be "straight news." FOX refers to Sean Hannity as a "Political Commentator"/"Talk Show Host" CNN calls Don Lemon and Anderson Cooper "Anchors"/"Reporters" That is wrong.
They all suck. Sean is not a capable interviewer and repeats the same thing over and over. My point is there is a clear deception with CNN by the way they credit their on-air talent. There is a breach of trust when an opinion host is labeled an anchor/reporter.
Hannity also has the rude habit of talking over his guests. The whole reporter/objective journalist thing went out the window long ago.
there is no way anyone can truly believe this man is the best choice to lead this country at this moment
