I remember Duke (as in George Deukmejian) proposed a 44 billion dollar rebuild for the state infrastructure top-to-bottom. That was in 1990. They told him to eff off. Said it was too much money ...

Guess how much they will spend now because it's too late to catch up? Triple it ... then double that, because the state grew twice as fast as projected because of immigration abuses. Plus, electric car nonsense and Dem-mandated eco-conscious restrictions.

Duke wanted to gut the state's sewer and electrical and go underground for most of the wiring. He aimed to fully streamline the hodgepodge of the state's regional spaghetti system of getting energy here from elsewhere. You know ... like Israel did when they built three desalination plants in the early Zeroes. Now, Israel has more than enough water and sells the rest to other nations at a profit. But the Sierra Club and the Surfrider Foundation lobbied against doing same of California's coast ... so yeah. Great work.

So, if one mega disaster - earthquake, tsunami, or EMP - and the Golden State will turn into Thunderdome in a matter of days. No Faraday cages or rebar construction will help then, So ... yeah ... Newsom and his slick hair and wispy smile. Enjoy that while millions die because the richest and most powerful economy of THEN wouldn't spend the money they had to save the state NOW.
