It's terrible. Just terrible.
Listening to these people and what they've lost ( including many pets) is just heart wrenching.
So disheartening and accentuates the helplessness we all feel.

 

on a tangent, that Jimmy Buffett restaurant mention reminds me ... A week ago. I was telling someone that Buffet had some sort of lucky star over him. The guy has never had a setback. Records sell, fans devoted, writes books and they sell, crafts a shitty tequila and even that sells. Midas touch. I wondered why the least talented songwriter of his era could live so long and never have a setback.

Now this, which isn't even on his radar as far as fiscal costs. But still, it's a bolt out of the blue for that city, for Hawaii as a whole, and for island tourism in general. For a conspiracy of high winds to decimate a lush place like this ... Wtf?

Anyway, my in-laws in Oahu are worried about two cousins who've not checked in. They don't live in Lahaina but they might've gotten caught there. It's got everyone scrambling out. They are the types who disappear for a week and sort of live off grid. They may just be up in the mountains smoking weed. Or maybe they met their maker.

 

i think the first time i was on Front st. was 1984 w my friends family and it was a huge party w dance bars and women everywhere
when i went back in the late 90s everything had become more family oriented but what a laid back gorgeous area of the world
staying in Kaanapali was like a 4 mile drive to the real action but i can only imagine what it was like in the 70s
all gone now but the memories and anything they build to replace it will never replace the feel
can't believe their FD couldn't save a single building apparently

i've been a big proponent of bestbuy since they match amazon's price and you can go hands on w the product but fuck that
intend to go in and cancel my account at the local store
costco has comparable merch and even though they aren't perfect i'll shop there for electronics

so i hear Puerto rico is getting ready to indict Trump on charges of endangering children when he tossed the paper towels. i mean they have it on film so its a slam dunk.

 

Remember when Kike and all the MSM lost their shit when Trump alleged that the corrupt PR government wasted/stole all the aide we gave them? And then we found out the government hid all the cash in vacant apartment buildings?

 

Anyways, as I say for each and every indictment and impeachment...

The worse part, and it obviously doesn't effect me in practice anymore, but there is very little left to pass on to your kids about the country and government.

Any young parents who have a brain can give no true examples of fair play and the harm diabolical greed and power and the desperate measures they are willing to go to to keep it.
