Or is it "big boys don't cry"?
Love how Johnny Winter is credited with lead guitar and miscellaneous screaming in the credits.
Odder still that one of the blackest men ever and one of the palest albinos ever matched up on one famous tune like this.
Only in America.
And I know ... racist.
In dishonor of treasonous generals everywhere.
Musical brilliance. He's touring the West Coast again next spring. Not going to miss him this time around.
Cool to see this. I've been listening to Traffic all week. Low Spark of High Heeled Boys is a great album.
good lord i remember seeing him in the 80s and back in the high life
huge Traffic fan and went back and listened to all of it when i discovered it in high school after hearing Blind Faith at a party
Capaldi is a legend that get mentioned too few times amongst the greats
i remember Winwood saying he was an entertainer and would end up in Vegas and his music getting a little too poppy after Valerie era and l lost track
wonder if he's going to be playing hits because that would be a full set for sure
looks like some of the tour dates will be w Steely dan which ime is a little hit and miss and not sure Fagan has anything left in the tank
but if they play Santa Barbara bowl i can get you hooked up and this sounds like a show they would sign and promote
Steve Winwood is a musical genius. He has the full package: can sing, write, and okay multiple instruments to perfection.
He rivals Clapton on guitar and can play rings around anyone on the keyboard. Not sure why others get more love than Stevie.
one of my favorite Winwood solo songs
but this one
yes its lip sync but its fun
denny diaz and skunk baxter in the band and these junkies be high
had the privilege of seeing Carlton play the entire royal scam album plus w my kid
i don't think i've ever openly wept watching a live show but i did
the music is completely different w his playing
only live minute i've been able to find of what he meant to the sound of this band
Carlton is a good guy. I waited on him at the NAAM show in 1989, after he'd survived that shooting. Affable, gentle, kind person. Superb guitarist. Glad he's still among us.
have you ever been to the baked potato in universal city devil?
haven’t been in ages, but they had the best random performers drop in unannounced
stanley clark, adrian belew, steve lukather, jeff pocaro, any many others i can’t recall
people said fagan and becker had stopped by, but i never saw them
i missed carlton stopping by on an 80’s friday night that i opted to stay home and watch miami vice instead of going out
miami vice was a pretty big deal wasn't it?
i've been there but never saw any live music there
when i saw carlton w the dan it was at the old universal amphitheater and they had closed off half of the seats!
i couldn't believe the show hadn't sold out but i guess that's why they shut it down
can still remember taking this crazy Thai girl to a massive attack show there and she basically gave me a lap dance the entire show
we were in the first row of the second tier and at first i didn't know what to do as everyone in the area was staring lol
after a couple of songs i just laid back and played the part it was awesome
we had been drinking beer playing ping pong before the show
those were the days
have a pretty cool amphitheater story
was 1979 and i took this bkitch to see the cars
got high as fuck (as we did back then), then all of a sudden this guy comes out and totally captivates the audience
was ‘79 so new wave was just hitting, and this guy and his band were amazing
great voice, great music, and crazy energy
three encores later i ask some dude who these guys are
joe jackson he says
i was 19, my date was 21, and i was completely intimidated by this older woman
kissed her but that was all
but years later she became a porn star
that’s a female porn star @Finski
porn actress, not star
pretty women out walking with gorillas down my street
just joe jackson i never turn the station
