every time i hear this song...
You keep doing this shit.
These guys are like the jesuit priests during the inquisition.
They coming to getcha!
They bringing the holy water.
Medicine for hells dry mouth.
Making the broken whole.
With the healing tone of their face.
Anyhow I think im in trouble.
Because its a different world today than just a few yesterdays ago.
And the last few times you put up a tune I couldnt bear to listen.
But maybe I got a little more iron in my veins.
And I can withstand some of this kind of metal.
Because this song sounds light and airy its because it broke through from where it was too heavy.
Which is the true meaning of pop.
The gum isn't about the sugar rush but about the feeling of the chew.
Oh yeah, anyhow meant that arrows are coming my way.
The jesuits priests see me tanning my tone out in the sun a little bit.
Or else your song wouldn't have hit its mark.
Or maybe it would because these guys are expert marksmen.
What I mean is that my ex wife is trying to talk to me again.
Whats your advice.
Should I continue to be hard.
Or should I become soft?
I am permeable enough that I can take the shots again.
I was too permeable to take the shots for a while.
Maybe the shots exposed some hidden stress?
Which created hardening of the exposed underbelly.
An animal instinct of self preservation.
Maybe it was self defense.
I plead the fifth.
Because when it comes to this shit I really have no idea what I wanna do.
I know what I like and what I dont like.
I am done with what I dont like.
Fortunately when I have a good doctor I am a good patient.
And I take the cure to heart.
yeah its pretty much the only game in town as far as i can tell
only you know if its worth the trouble
those female things are quite different and use their powers adroitly
a cute face and a great ass can get away w a whole lot of nonsense
first time i saw that fan video of that song and just love the feeling cause its how i hear it
this is the original, kinda cool piece of art
the fan videos make me happy
another fan video i thought you might enjoy
"and i know that its hard to digest but baby your story ain't so different from the rest"
Here's a Cure tune that'd never be accepted today ...
great song and of course has nothing to do w actually killing an arab
but who cares people are offended
raucous version of arab from 86 live in orange
if you even like the Cure this is one of the best live shows ever
that rhythm section is intense
he doesn't even sing those lyrics anymore its "killing another" fucking lame
True. It's an allusion to Camus' The Stranger ... which nobody in the wokeverse has read anyway.
more Bowie love but i swear i never heard this song until a few months ago
if i posted it before forgive me
I believe it does...at least fictionally.
I think that song is referencing "The Stranger" by Albert Camus, which revolves around a nonsensical killing of an Arab by the main character.
Edit-Oh Jeez I need to read the rest of the posts before I reply. Finski got there weeks ago.
Saw this band in San Juan Capistrano 30 years ago; still love the sound. Trance is hit & miss, but this was hit.
What’s happening with Mazzy Star. Since the death of one part of that duo, is the band officially no more?
I think Hope Sandoval still performs solo.
Fun fact: Mazzy Star is probably the worst live performance I've ever seen. They played 3-4 songs that sounded terrible, then she bitched at the crowd for being "too hyper" and walked off the stage.
Still love their music, though.
Wow. I had the opposite experience. Maybe I got lucky or she had a bad night when you saw them.
Didn't know about Roback's death last year. Damn shame.
I've seen videos of them online and they're amazing.
Everyone has a bad day at work now and then
they're artists so they get to throw tantrums
saw Peter Murphy at the Greek and he started scolding the audience because we weren't getting his new stuff after Deep
felt embarrassed for him and the crowd semi turned on him
has to be hard when 2-20k people turn up on any given night and things just aren't working
been to more than a few shows where the road crew gets chastised on mike for the sound
Saw Peter Murphy in '92 or '93. He was incredible.
Jewel opened for him before anyone know who she was.
I've seen smashing Pumpkins be one of the best live bands I've ever seen, then seen them have an off day and sound like big bird and the cast of Sesame Street.
