it's just a situational thing. In a game that is tied in the bottom half of the 9 and there is a runner directly behind him, the order should've been given that he goes home on any ball that touches the ground. The difference between 1st and 3rd and 2nd and 3rd there is nothing because only the runner at third base mattered.

I must say, and not claiming any Sherlock Holmes type powers of observation, that Kopech looked totally exhausted and gassed before he threw one damn pitch. Guy's averge velo was down, and he was sucking for air after one fastball.
I would have rather seen Brasier go two than use Kopech. Just because you're as big as a moose, doesn't guarantee effectiveness. There's a reason his overall record sucks. Why was he even available ?
For every good move Dave comes up with ( like calling Heywood's number the other night), he makes three moronic ones.

Almost a complete meltdown on the mound last night, Brazier and Treinen aside. Treinen got bailed out by Rojas and some bad TB baserunning. He hasn't looked good since coming back from IL. Not worried about Phillips at all. One bad pitch to a hot hitter. He struck out the next three with ease. If Kopech can't go back to back then he isn't a closer.

Stone needs to right the ship today. Need at least six from him.

 

Especially the part about Kopech going back to back andnot being a closer. Absolutely.
The did the same shit with Broxton towards the end of his Dodger tenure...just because of his expansive girth I think.
