The Dodgers weren't celebrating the game the right way, I guess.

If we win the World Series at home, I hope Dodger Stadium is filled with bubbles while Selig and his cronies hand us the trophy.

We should start a campaign to have all Dodgers fans bring bubble bottles with them. Imagine almost 60,000 people blowing bubbles? Haha...

Dodgers Rumors: MLB Shuts Down Bubble Machine
by Vincent Samperio | Dodgers Nation -- August 06, 2014

Clayton Kershaw struck out seven and allowed three runs in seven innings.

On the way from 9.5 games back in the division to currently 2.5 games ahead in the National League West, the Los Angeles Dodgers began to have some fun in the dugout that seemed to correlate with winning or vice versa.

When the Dodgers get a big home run or a key play, a bubble machine has been saying spitting bubbles into the dugout as the players dance around. Dee Gordon broke down the origin of the “foam party” last week.

According to Ryan Walton of the Valley Bay News, the Dodgers may no longer be bubbly following big blasts:

One would wonder what could possibly be wrong with a bubble machine in the dugout and the details may be revealed later if the MLB is serious. Even Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully has caught on to the phenomenon, awaiting the bubbles in the dugout after every long ball.

Every team finds their own way of celebrating big moments and it seemed as if the Dodgers had found theirs, something completely different than any other team. The dugout hijinks may now have to come in other forms for the defending NL West champs. Earlier this season, the Dodgers were reprimanded by fire officials after performing a “hot foot” prank on outfielder Scott Van Slyke. Last season, the dugout became a circus during the 42-8 streak that even included a banana being fed to Juan Uribe.

Whether the bubbles are banned should not deter the Dodgers from repeating as division champions and heading into the postseason.

WTF? The hotfoot prank is a MLB institution, it's been practiced since back in the 'dead ball' era. Fuck the fucking fire department, next thing you know they'll be banning the bubble gum 'bubble on the cap' prank.

    Dear MLB,

Kindly remove the stick from your ass.

    Signed,

    The Fans.

    great article...
    and fuck joe torre

by Craig Calcaterra | NBC Sports Hardball Talk -- 2 hours ago

The Dodgers have been doing something silly this year. Fun silly. The kind of silly that, if you’re not invested in the opposing team’s fortunes, probably makes you smile. They’ve had a little battery-powered bubble machine in the dugout and someone turns it on and they do little dances when they hit home runs.

Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports, however, that Major League Baseball has told the Dodgers to cut it out:

Before Tuesday’s game against the Angels at Dodger Stadium, Major League Baseball executive vice president Joe Torre, advised the Dodgers to stop using the machine... The bubble machine was back Wednesday, at Angel Stadium... Did the Dodgers negotiate a compromise with MLB, or did they unilaterally decide to bring back the bubble machine?

No one is giving any comment about it, Shaikin says, so it’s unclear whether Joe Torre relented or whether the Dodgers are being bubble-blowing badboys.

I hope MLB relented here, because as far as home run celebrations go, this is pretty darn tame. It’s off-the-field for one thing. It’s not taunting anyone. In an age where fireworks go off, complicated handshakes and gestures are flashed and music is blared through the ballpark at ear-splitting levels every time a home team player hits a homer, I’m not sure what would possess anyone to target a child’s bubble machine.

This game is fun, people. Let’s have some fun out there.

If this is true, what reason is there to not allow the bubble machine?

    MLB is retarded.

easy, next time the brewers are in town the dodgers should run a free bobble head of former dodgers manager joe torre that when bobbled spits out bubbles from the top of the cap.
