dude, i'm thinking it was a stinger...a common football injury that's not all that serious. guys usually sit for about 20 minutes and then get back out there and play, but they have to come out of the game immediately because the feeling in that side is temporarily gone and that's what it looks like happened with Hanley. he heard no pop and wasn't separated, supposedly. he said he couldn't feel the back of his shoulder, so i'm thinking it was a pinched nerve...which is a stinger
hernandez is a douche no new news so he posts a link to his story from yesterday way to stay relevant jackass fucken idiot
I tend to rely on Dylan H. for breaking news, as he's the only one that tweets. Gurnick and the others are useless for anything happening right now. I don't know where Hanley is getting the MRI done. Chicago? So, I doubt any of them are staying behind to catch the news. Got to get to the hotel. And there's too damn much bbq waiting to be eaten in St Louis.
no idea, only thing they said was monday hernandez seems to imply it's already been done and we're just awaiting the results... Dylan Hernandez @dylanohernandez 2hHanley Ramirez injures shoulder, #Dodgers bracing themselves for worst as they await the results of his MRI exam: http://lat.ms/150aH4v9:21 AM - 5 Aug 13 · Details
Ramona Shelburne @ramonashelburne2mDodgers source says Hanley Ramirez shoulder injury "is better today" so no MRI for now. He is "still sore however." So apparently he hasn't had an MRI yet.
"is better today" in Dodgerland means that HanRam is going to be forced to retire because the injury is so awful.
The one thing we have this time that we didn't have before is words from the athlete, rather than relying on the word of Mattingly, to which he has admitted to lying.
i really believe it was a stinger. those can be tough for a day...football guys usually sit 20-30 minutes and go back into the game. Hanley obviously couldn't do that. but you have to come out of the game when you have one...shooting pain in your shoulder and then numbness thereafter. it'll definitely leave your arm hanging like Hanley's was yesterday as he walked off the field. a pinched nerve basically. when they said " jammed shoulder, but it's not separated or broken " i wondered why they didn't just call it a stinger
Not that it means anything, but iirc, the next day was when shit really hit the fan as far as injuries with Kemp and Crawford. So the fact that it isn't worse today would lead me to believe that it isn't something that causes swelling like a sprain or separation.
Could just be a case calling up the best position player available, because they don't want to keep 13 pitchers (6 starters) and SVS/Herrera have to stay down for 10 days.
Regarding the MRI situation, it doesn't make sense why they wouldn't get one, but they obviously know more than we do. If it's not separated/torn/whatever, how bad could is possibly be?
This answers about the risk of taking a MRI: David Vassegh @THEREAL_DV28s Hanley is feeling better, Dodgers want to wait on MRI because injecting dye will put him on the shelf for 3 days creating more swelling
