I used to smoke tritip every weekend and eat it during the week in French bread burgers.
With grilled onions, garlic, peppers, mushrooms, avocado, slab of soft cheese, the works.
Sometimes I would add cured meats to make it even better.
I haven't had it in 3 years or so.
Damn mad cows getting all hopped up on drugs
First try to kill me with milk cheese and ice cream and then with the meat.
You would think nature is fighting back.
speak and spell shouldn't say moo it should say eat me and die.

    We should eat lamburgers instead.
Slogan= don't be sheep, drop the beef!

This thread is going to start a bigger war between posters than any political thread we've ever had.

Best burger I ever had was at this place:

    http://jakesbarandgrill.net/
I was on a business trip and stopped here when I had a little time off. Damn that burger was good.

My local L.A. favorite spot for burgers is "Pie'n Burger" in Pasadena. Love that place.

Hickory Burger is great! Did you ever get to "Marty's" down the street. It's right next door to the Fire Department (still there far as I know). Damned good chili burgers. Buddy of mine used to swear by the Pastrami Burger with Chili (I think he's dead now)

Hickory burger is great but their egg salad sandwich is legendary too.....

    RE: Marty's.....

I used to go there after golfing at Rancho because, and trust me on this, after following a fivesome of Asian women trying to play golf for 7 hours only a gut-bomb, Marty's combo will do. Funny event I happened to catch there one day..... The guy inside was arguing loudly with a health inspector, who had come to rate them, after being downgraded from an "A" to a "C". The grill cook was screaming about how clean it was and how it's hard to control things because they're so busy all the time (not) and refused to display it. The health inspector just kept telling him if he didn't, he'd have him shut down. Finally, the guy says, "FINE, here it is", and puts it in the back, side window facing the little walkway there. The inspector then says, "NO, IN THE FRONT ON PICO!!!" The guy then yells, FUCK YOU! THIS PLACE IS ALWAYS CLEAN, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME??" At which point the inspector takes the "C", slams it against the grease covered wall (where it sticks) and yells back, "THAT'S WHY!!!" :D

All of us outside were laughing our asses off like we were watching a sitcom... (This should be a scene).... :)

On a burger scale of 1-10 McD/BK/Wendy's all score a 0-1. Carl's Jr pushes a 3, so it's exponentially better than the others. But all are still shit burgers.

If it's hard to make fries, then you're trying to hard. Any frozen fries work well in my experience. Or chop up a fresh potato, drizzle with olive oil and salt, bake for 20-30 minutes flipping them halfway through.

Those look like some of the sorriest sacks of burgers I've ever seen. How drunk do you have to be to enjoy those?

Has anyone been to Sammy's LA Pastrami in Vegas? It's a bit over-indulgent, plus their locations were nowhere near where I lived, so I only went a couple times... but the burgers make for good pictures

LOL! Yup, that's Marty's. Have to add a pic for all to see to really enjoy that story more. Thanks for that. Been at least 10+ years since I've been there.

    I actually like them sober.
But the drunker you are, the better they taste. Pretty much the same thing as white castle.
