The D is the biggest problem by far.
Two catchers that are an automatic out are a problem though. A seven man lineup is a bit of a shortcoming, on a team that is as mediocre offensively as one can get. It's very true, AJ would make a good back up catcher, but Ned doesn't think so...not an important position to him, I guess.
If Donnie is not going to address the D, then he should turn his lonely eyes to Mrs Colletti for at least a guy who might get a hit once in while. It could help; but they suck so much, that AJ's rather minimal plateau looks like Mt. Everest in comparison.
The starters after Zeinke, Ryu and so far, Haren, are terrible. Weak. even if they are on their game, they need defense behind them (haha!), luck, failure of the oppo with RISP, DPs, Santeria, and the O to score maybe a run or two (haha!)...wow...hysterical laughter. Where's Harangu-tan?
We still seem to be a hitter, or lineup away from being the "winners we are predicted and paid dearly to be".
Maybe Joc can be this year's Puig. We always seem to need a Puig or Manny...maybe lack of managing over recent years?
I really don't think Yasiel is a defensive liability... Over rated offensely though.
What do we all know anyway though?
The team is in great hands...the hands of highly paid professionals who are experienced and savvy and been around BB for years. Why the manager himself is a border line HoFer. And the GM just had a birthday. The 3b coach has the same last name as Al. And our hitting coach could kick the shit out of Gibson if he wanted to. Movie/TV stars root for us, and go to the games. When we are losing, the crowd plays beachball and does the wave.
Look what they have achieved...uh...under their leadership...we are "elite"...

Probably because of his NLCS performance 6 years ago.

I was just wondering if he's taking it from the Wizard of Oz or just wants to call him the tin man.

He lacks heart. No fire. Could never pitch out of a ham. Strong tendency to fold with runners on base in the 5th or 6th.

    Weak.
    Soft.

    Heartless.

    That's why.

His injury has nothing to do with it.

But if you're taking from Wizard of Oz, wouldn't he be the Cowardly Lion? The Tin Man wanted a heart so he could feel emotion.

The Cowardly Lion is a pussy.

    Which OF is Toto?

    Chinchilla?
    CC?
    The Pig?

Ethier is the good witch. Means well, is dependable, but for the most part is utterly useless.

    nice rant...

and just so that I'm clear where do we stand in team passed balls since this is AJ's traditional contribution to the team?

With all the major problems this team seems to have, that some focus on what is considered almost purely a defensive position for it's lack of offense as THE problem is justifiable rant grounds.
