Kershaw just clinched the division in dominant fashion against last year's golden-boy. I think the vote is actually pretty easy. And fuck Arrieta.

That's a cool take, but personally I can't just boil it down to that start..Greinke deserves better than that. Great as CK was..and he was epic..it was his 1st time besting Madbum this year in like 4 or 5 tries. " Fuck Arrieta " is a given tho. We agree there.

kersh has had a better 2nd half
zack has had the better two halfs/halves
imo, you have to vote for the guys who's been solid all season
because if we're gonna go with just the 2nd half, then arrieta wins it in a runaway

When was Kershaw not good? If I'm not mistaken kershaw was great in the first half of the season as well.

Fucking sucks that this is happening. All three are well worthy of this award and are having somewhat historic seasons in their own regard.

I think Arrieta wins solely because everyone wants to have the Cubs "win". In addition to that, having two guys on the same team always reduces the their chances as the voters most likely to vote for them are the ones most familiar, leaving those votes split while the other voters more familiar with the other pitcher only have one "choice".

where did i say he wasn't good
i only said greinke was better over two halves

so you basing the vote primarily on war?
era, whip and fip should also be factors
and if you're going to base it more on the 2nd half, then arrieta kicks both their asses

I think it'll be Arrieta. He has a shit ton of momentum right now and the Cubs are the media darling.

There is this. Splitting the vote. That's why we need a 2-party system. I vote the Dodgers hold a primary, and we nominate just one of our boys to run for it while the other drops out of the race.

Friedman the genius lost it for Greinke by giving Dee to the Marlins, and they scored zip for him over those 10 starts.

I'll take Howie, Kike, and the roster flexibility.

Dee had a good year. Good for him.

...............and Haren (or Heaney for that matter) > Bolsinger/Latos/(maybe) Wood and Howie and his hamstrings are in a walk year, if he can walk for a year, that is...

Roster Flexibility to find what exactly, an affordable and controllable Allstar second baseman who almost won a batting title and steals 50+ bases and a serviceable/durable inning eating pitcher?

    Cool! :)

Oh yeah, I forgot, we don't like players here who don't cost 8 figures per season without chronic injury histories and surgical scars like roadmaps on their bodies cuz we're fucking geniuses.....

Guggenheim group are predominantly stock brokers and stock brokers like hot, trendy buys which is what NerdCo is. I certainly hope they get their shit together and do what they really need to do which is stop trying to be so fucking "Cute" with their overly complicated, mind bending, clusterfuck trades and simply get what this team needs, which thankfully still isn't much.

PS. Kike is good (and probably a closeted poofter) and Hatcher is Niedenfuer.

AND let's not overlook that he is the only one of the three that already has 20+ wins and the voters like that sort of stuff

    tight race either way
BLF had it right that in any event two guys on the same team dilutes the vote and hurts both of their chances
