Win #222 for CK. Ties Jerry Koosman and Tim Hudson. And is no longer tied with Scherzer - at least for the moment.

Yow... can't say I blame him. Wife & kids still so young & he's a multi-millionaire... why push it?

    Go enjoy your life.

Without any insight to his personal life and how that may have factored in... I still think this is the right decision. He proved he could come back from the back, toe, and other injuries he's dealt with for the past couple of years and be more than effective at 37. Provided a HUGE help to the team this year when the starting rotation was a mess and is putting up numbers that would be impressive for most pitchers... But not for Kershaw, comparatively to the rest of his career. It's tough to see favorite players hang 'em up, but I can respect the ones that go out on top and not hang on past their effective period. Hope to see him get one more W tomorrow, and glad to see he will get a shot at one more ring, assuming no team meltdown here.

He proved to himself and Dodgers that he could still do it. Probably a good way to go out.

Thanks for the memories. One of the classiest to ever wear the Dodger blue.

Fellas, been a minute...life has been very busy (but in good ways).

Had to come back after this news though. Shed a few tears and will legit probably cry when Dave pulls him from the game tomorrow.

I say the same thing to Clayton as I said to Duke Snider when I met him...thank you for the unforgettable games and always adding to my pride as a lifelong Dodger fan.
May his life with his family soar like a hawk...

its probably a reach but i was just wondering out loud
he and his family are deeply Christian and he gets a lot of grief for that
go look at mlbtraderumors and read some of the things "fans"about his announcement
think a lot of people have been struggling w how to feel about things now and why would he be different?
the club he plays for makes his beliefs low priority and maybe he and is wife are just done
how hard would it have been for the team to acknowledge the life and family of a Christian leader recently assassinated?
obviously he's the only one who could say that and since he's very private and loyal i doubt he would
doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility to me

    can always change his mind
lot of young arms coming back next year maybe he didn't want to block them?

if apple had a soul they’d recognize the enormity of the moment and allow the dodgers and mlb to broadcast the game
    they don’t, they won’t
