Greg Kihn dies of Alzheimers. He was 75.

Saw him a few times. Good musician. Very personable...

Maybe a bit odd for the music thread but here goes...

When Kate & I got married, we immediately prepared a living trust. It has evolved as we had our four kids (now 10, 8, 6, & 4) but I've finalized my own funeral plans as part of it. Not getting any younger.

I paid for the plot, the cremation, the Mass, abd the music, both sacred & for the wake afterwards ...

My song list is long but I thought I'd share some here. I won't make it maudlin but I figure, well ... at least the 10 songs I want played for sure ...

    Charlie Parker - Ornithology
    Harry James - Corner Pocket
    CSN - 49 Bye Byes
Tom Waits - Frank's Wild Years
Skynyrd - Ain't No Good Life
Stevie Ray - Life by the Drop
Randy Travis - Forever & Ever Amen
    Erik Satie - Gymnopédie
    Cash - I've Been Everywhere
    Hendrix - Star Spangled Banner

Like I said ... it's incomplete. I've got over 50 songs already but I gotta make a comprehensive list of 10. It's tough.

Not the music but the whole planning your own funeral procession type of deal.
Thats some dark gothic shit right there.
The coffin business is weird enough but the way people are going as of late its probably not a bad business idea to start a dead mans party planning company for the distinguished soon to be extinguished gentleman.
Im not trying to be racist btw.

White is not a color of race but of clay/soil/blood. People from all over the world and skin colors are white.
White clay is lawful and orderly and uses a passive form of aggression to preserve its semblance of control.

White plus blue or green are great combinations for society.
White plus red or black can be pretty hard core for society.

Being White Red and Blue makes the US the most powerful but at the same time the most volatile.
But at the risk of losing all its Green and turning Black.
Because blue is cold, green is warm, red is hot, and black is not.

i guess that's why i don't have a list because it was something i used to think about but don't any longer
sort of like how our children or our friends perceive us in life not being something we'll ever understand either
fact is we are basically forgotten as soon as the last person who knew us thinks or speaks about us
it was a very big deal for my mom to be buried w dad in a cemetery and have the full experience but i'm looking at a simpler end
used to tell my girls i wanted "put two daughters through college" on my tombstone but now i don't need a stone or anything else
my time here is what it is and all that ceremony just seems meaningless
besides i just try to do my best while i'm here and have a laugh along the way
not to make anyone elses desires less important but i'd be fine tossed in a hole next to all my dogs
if that pack was there in the end it would truly be heaven
