Interesting take on WZ ... yet also infuriating.

    https://americansongwriter.com/revisiting-3-warren-zevon-gems-you-shouldnt-forget/

How can a music critic- supposedly informed - NOT mention that Zevon used Sweet Home Alabama's melody for Werewolves of London? Why did Kid Rock put both songs b together as he did for All.Summer Long? Ronnie Van Zant was dead when Werewolves came out, but the estate was honored that Warren asked to use it ... yet this guy - who clearly loves Warren- misses the whole point of Zevon's musical appeal across genres of rock & roll.

My Dad-in-law is a great guy. Great guitarist too. Huge Beatles fan ... but he just hates the Stones, Who, & Kinks.

So I play the feck out of all three when he's around ....

thats from ladies and gentlemen in 72 and is the ultimate live Stones I've seen
the first couple of song Mick is noticeably too high on coke and takes a minute for the band to fully hit the groove
but man this was the top of their game w Taylor shredding slide, the rhythm section perfect and the horns blowing people off the stage
this song in particular I think sums up the attitude and debauchery of the band
what a party that must of been!
oh and Jagger has to be the greatest front man ever
"and we open up the throttle yeah! and we bust another bottle yeah!
and my buddy flaked on me so no trip down south ffs
had such high hopes for an adventure
oh well need to complete the patio cover

    What a roster.

I recently discovered (remembered?) That my big brother's best friend in the mid-70s has fashioned a blues guitarist career...

He was nicknamed Caveman & the name fit. But he practiced 5 hours a day from 13 until... well ... until now. He's 68.... Mike Reilly....

He's not Clapton but I'm glad he made a career of playing.

    absolutely no question imo
however I do love black and blue which isn't really Ron Wood yet either, sort of an audition album after Taylor left
this is just a lip sync but still fun
as much as I love the Taylor era I have a soft spot for this album as its funky as fuck
Billy Preston and Nicky Hopkins were also hugely responsible for that great sound

great live performance of hey negrita which of course is set in a whorehouse somewhere down south

love this song great to see any live footage since not much exists from 76 tour

favorite song of black and blue w some great 70s American footage and the band. solo is Wayne Perkins. how did he not get the gig?
